Not so much conservatism, there is no guarantee the timeout would have worked then and he probably felt Wang Manyu was in control and didn't want Sun to have a chance to mentally steady herself.

Well Sun Yingsha now has the traditional physics problem (the Chuang Hi Yuan/Kanak Jha problem) to solve. When your opponents are physically stronger than you and therefore have naturally more powerful strokes than you do and you don't have a massive edge in serve and return and speed, how do you win the match?

4 years is a long time and she can get lucky but the stable features are currently not in her favor unless she can fix one of the deficits somehow. The main thing that works in SYS's favor is that so far, Wang Manyu has been injury prone. But maybe that has been sufficiently addressed. Time will tell...
