I’ve been itching to try a Stiga Legend handle for my big hands — pretty rare to find one these days — and one came up on the Arctic Wood, so I ordered one.
What differences should I expect to see compared to my current Virtuoso OFF-? I’d like to know so that I can pick rubbers for it. Currently I’m using G1 forehand/ Factive backhand on the V-, and very happy with them…. I’ll probably stick with them unless there’s a good reason to try something else.
The Arctic Wood is rated OFF, so I’m expecting a little bit faster, which is great…. Not sure if I’ll like it, but it will satisfy my curiosity about a faster 5-ply. For sure this is an experiment, and it’s entirely possible that it simply reinforces just how good the V- is for me. There might be a V- with a custom legend-like handle in my future. Or maybe the Arctic Wood is great? We shall see.
Not a lot of info on the Arctic Wood. Reviews are very good, it seems to be a great offensive 5-ply along the lines of a Stratus Power wood or maybe a Virtuoso OFF+. The wood used for the Arctic Wood outer plies continues to be a mystery it seems…. Or does someone know?
Thanks
