My vote would be a 7 ply all wood like the OSP Ultimate II or similar over the Virtuoso AC which have similar blade properties in this chart attached.
Nothing felt better than beating a guy yesterday at about the same level 3-0 who was using a super duper Viscaria with Dignics 09c on both sides when I'm using a $42 USD Falck W7 after discount with commercial H3 / MXP. When he practices, he has very powerful shots on both bh/fh, but in a game I think he'd be much better off using a soft 6.2 to 6.5 mm 7 ply. I'm sure he's still trying to figure out how he lost and will probably pull out one of his other high priced rocket launchers next week 😄. At some point, he may realize I might know something he doesn't and let me finish sharing my thoughts without interrupting me instead of comparing blade costs as if there's a direct relationship between blade cost and someone's ability to win matches. I'm in no rush to help a competitor and am happy focusing on my own improvement using the same analysis based approach I've used in other competitive sports.
I should mention, I have a Long 5 but prefer the 7 ply with optimal power to control ratio for matches and the large sweet spot when compared to 5 ply.
