My friend came back from a trip to Japan and gave me this Dignics 80 to test on my forehand. Let's see if I can handle it.

Backhand is still rozena.

I finally got my New Blade from Soulspin. I bought the Basalt blade with a thick flared New Era handle.
I asked for around 85 gram, but they said they can only do around 90 grams. It turned out to be 97 gram, wich is the heaviest blade i have owned. Glued both side with Stiga DNA Hybrid M. Total weight with two layers of glue on the rubber and one on the blade is 195 gram (with edge tape). It feels really nice and balanced, so i will try it tomorrow. I have struggled with small handles, and this blade will not help me either. Its really thick at the end, but its not so thick from the middle and to the top. It give a nice support for the palm of the hand.

Both rubbers under 50g cut and glued, is the headsize smaller than standard?

My second pc of Aurus. The first one was red for BH use, this one is black for FH use. This will go on my Falchion Falcima. The BH for Falcima is Acuda S1. This is my Euro flavour loopy whoppy doddle doo blade. For those times when I feel Walder'esque.

Latest EJ purchase just to check the theory: regular H3 (non neo) commercial 40 degrees.

My expectations were that it's still tacky and should work much better than non-tacky H3 NEO, with which I couldn't do the flicks, the ball went out all the time, etc.

And it did work, old feeling is back and I can loop kill and spin the ball well even with only 1 layer of booster.
Works amazingly well on w968.

Damn this feels good, the good old hurricane..should I stock up with non-neo H3? Is provincial non-neo as good as commercial in terms of tackiness?

I'm sorry, 97g when you ask for 85? Are they mad?
Well i asked for 85, but they say it will be around 90 grams. So 97 is to much i think. I will try to play with it today.

And yes, both rubber glued is under 100 gram in total. I did try to weigh the blade several times and it stop at 97 grams every time. It feels to heavy. The blade i am playing with now is total 182 gram with same rubber on backhand and Shining dragon max on forehand, so it will be a difference.

Long time no buy! 🤣 Off the season so it’s perfect time to check something I’ve never had a chance and curiosity was stronger than expected ;)

I heard someone say for the first time this week that "primorac carbon is a little bit slow"
In all fairness, he had even faster blades, with fast rubber

The weight is a drawback with the Basalts. I got two inners, One at 81g and one at 87g. I played the har avier and it felt great but the S-CZ (All nittakus by Soulspin) felt better (in my opinion). I finally decided that both of these blades had too puny handles and went for a blade with an LG handle…

The larger handle also comes with a weight disadvantage, I just started my road towards a heavier blade…

Cheers

I have heard different opinions about the Primorac Carbon...is a bit thin, it is light, it doesn't have good control...but never that it is slow XD

Recently one of the guy in our local league was playing with Primo Carbon, and all shots he made was ridiculously amazing. I know that skill matters not the blade :D :D Couple days ago I watched on YT "Dan testing Zoran Primorac bats" and I didn't need much anymore
I've never tried such construction with Hinoki on top, so my curiosity reached the ceiling ;) and this one was available so why not.
In the meantime I'm looking for Garaydia ZLC and Garaydia T5000 to compare but these one are harder to find but I have time :)
I'm not going to change my Golden Viscaria which is my current/primary blade since October2024 but off the season it is good time for EJing/testing a bit

I tried a Waldner Legend Carbon (3+2 Hinoki surface) but it's just not my thing. The Hinoki is soft and wants to grab the ball but immediately it gets knocked out by the carbon.
For people with excellent timing it might be really nice.

Yes, the blade i was using is S-CZ and the weight is 81 g, so its a big step up in weight to the Basalt blade from Soulspin. I played with the blade form Soulspin yesterday, and it felt great. Its very balanced. The weight didnt bother me at all during the 2 hours of playtime. Even the handle seemed nice, but i have to try it more times to be sure.

This is not always the case. A large handle can be made lighter. For example, 6 grams on the handle. Your handles can also be lightened. But you also need to consider the change in balance of the entire blade.

Sure You can make it hollow, but...
This will most likely create a vibrator...,
and I think everybody understands what I meant...

If you don't like the feeling of emptiness and vibration in the handle, you can fill this cavity with light foam. By the way, I saw this method in a Xiom blade that was being repaired
