Do they still make the straps that secure any pair of frames tightly? My dad was an optometrist and used to sell them. The consensus was that if the frames fit properly, the addition of the strap was plenty secure.
For table tennis you don't need any straps as long as the temple pieces are fitted correctly around the ears. The Lebruns are playing world class table tennis and they don't need any straps.

I wear progressive lens regularly except when I play, I switch to a pair of single focal. This avoids the ‘tunnel vision’ of progressives. Choose a frame with larger lens area so catching a close ball with the corner of your eyes will not be a problem. Avoid metal frames, the arms could bend. Body oil and perspiration will always be a problem. Get silicone buds for the end of the arms to hold the frame firmly in place when playing under those conditions. Above all get anti-reflection coating like Crizal which is scratch, fingerprint and oil resistant plus anti fogging too.

Those silicon buds look like a great idea. I don't need my glasses to hug my ears tightly normally but when I play I do want them secure so they don't slip. I've lost a lot of points due to sweat and slippage in humid environments.

Those buds seem like best of both worlds where I can have them really snug for play but then just remove them afterwards.

Got these delivered in one-day at 20 cents a pair. They seem to work great. No slippage no matter how much I move my head around. Worth every penny! Thanks @Tempest/Comet !

Is there anybody out there who has any tips on what prescription glasses/particular frames (or anything else related) that’s best for playing table tennis? I have hit that time where I need to finally accept that I have to start wearing glasses at the table. Unfortunately I’m unable to get eye laser treatment. I don’t see too many people wearing glasses in the local league so thought I’d see if anyone here has any advice?

Cheers.
I use graduated varifocals, which basically cater for short, mid and long distance. After a short while you’ll naturally be clearly seeing the ball at any distance without overtly trying to focus. Costs vary widely, upper end is best quality lenses and best peripheral vision.
