With the newer water based glue, I never seal my blades.

I change rubbers every 3-6 months, depending on how much I play - I've never had an issue with blades chipping (just be careful when removing the old rubbers).

I know people who do seal their blades, but it's usually just a one time thing - Not every time you change rubbers.

I've already had (very slight) chipping with Butterfly's glue before, so I started sealing brand new blades.

OK, it'll all come down to personal preference, but I would be very surprised if people sealed their blades more than once.

I use Joola varnish myself, 2 layers with a few hours in between. Never had to re-seal blades. Recently I read about people just using high grit sandpaper (1500+) to polish the blade surface a little, it doesn’t take off much material, even the printings on the blade won’t fade, might give that a try with my next purchase.
