Rubber advice for Nittaku Acoustic

The guy is 1850TTR in Germany. It's like 2100+ USATT, and that's pretty solid.
Vega X maybe, but Vega Europe is way too comfortable for the opponents at this level.
The OP has trouble with Rozena, a softer rubber than Vega X. His goal is to increase consistency to not lose points.

His goal is to find a rubber which suits his technique and retains speed/spin, not to downgrade to a baby-rubber which will allow his opponents to eat him alive :) .
The OP states that Rozena is not spinny and dangerous enough, and also that Fastarc series are too slow for his game. And that Tenergy is too reactive and expensive.
First what comes to my mind is DHS GoldArc 8 47.5. Fast, spinny, grippy, tenacious, aggressive rubber which feels safe in higher gears, wouldn't mind hitting a bit late, less reactive than Tenergy and won't break the bank. I played with an Acoustic/GA8 for a year, a pretty offensive combo with great feel. A short game is not as safe as with hybrids, but way better than a Tenergy. Vega X is somehow similar to GA8, and even feels softer to me, but I much prefer GA8.

I'll throw Nittaku Hammond Z2 in here for consideration.
I would really recommend Nittaku Z2 , it is really speedy , spinny and will really gel with Acoustic as it is softer wood and from same company.

I hv being playing with Z2 on FZD ALC , felt very controlled and same zing like T05 but way controlled than T05

How does the MK feel on Acoustic? It’s only been a couple of days, but I feel like I’ve found my match with G1. Although it being a fast rubber it feels a lot better than the Rakza 7 I had on there previously.

I have Rozena on a Korbel and feel like that would be more bouncy than I’d like on an Acoustic, but less so than R7.

G1 feels a lot more stable while still having more speed if you apply more. Does the MK feel dead or too slow, and does it mute the feeling of the blade at all?
MK on Acoustic feels very nice if you like the sensation of the rubber holding the ball for a bit. It's fast enough and yields more spin on fast swings than Rozena.

If you already have a G1, then just keep using it until it is time for new rubber, then it may be worth considering MK.

So yesterday I was able to excercise about two hours. On one side I glued the SuperThick G1 and on the other side an old Tenergy 05FX.
As as far as I can say, the 05FX works better on FH than the G1. Instead the G1 is super solid on BH with some weird shots in passive situations. If I just hold the bat very passive with no counter loop or push activity, the ball always goes into the net.
The 05FX on FH is super solid. As I already mentioned just the short game is a bit tricky. But I think the offensive quality is far more betten than when I play with the G1 on FH.
I will try again on wednesday and I also want to compare it to my spare racket (Darker 7P-2A with two 05FX) because I am still not sure what suites me better.

Yes! I also feel more comfortable when I play with softer rubber. Maybe I have to accept the negative aspects of Tenergy 05FX and need to train more short game situations to challenge the spin sensitivity.
I've tried G1 a few times, always on other people's rackets, I never bought it myself. This thread on Reddit describes G1 very well, basically sums it up for me anyway!

Funny enough myself and another redditor commented on that thread over the weekend saying how magical G1 feels on an Acoustic (esp over R7 as it didn't feel right for either of us). Everything's a preference lol.

I have an acoustic now and am tempted to try the G1 on it, hoping I can borrow one from one of the EJs at the club. I think I need to get the Acoustic GRevision with the bigger handle tho, I'm starting to find the small handle a bit of an issue recently. I didn't have a problem with it at first but the more I play the more I notice a slight discomfort at the end of sessions.
Anyway, I really think it depends on style and proficiency. High level attackers r gonna love G1 n anyone else is going to have to work hard or struggle to make G1 work for them. I think I'm going to be in the latter category tbh but I'm looking forward to testing it. I expect it will only highlight flaws in my technique but we'll see!

There's an easy solution to your problem. Practice.

Rozena is already pretty soft, so goind softer and having the rubber forgive the mistakes will only leave bad habits. They to use more acceleration and engage the sponge, and of course hit earlier.
Yeah, you're right. But I already practice nearly 2 times a week and after 20 years in table tennis it is hard to change the technique. Maybe I need a longer pre season excercise to get comfy with harder rubbers, especially on FH but now I only have about 3 weeks until the first tournament starts.

i used to have Acoustic Inner and had T80 (FH) + D80 (BH) both 1.9mm at the time.

i used to like it very much, but i wouldn't return to it now because i am able to handle faster stuff and use smash less than i used to do in FH due to injuries + playstyle change

T80 plays faster for flat shots and i like it a bit better for blocking but is less spinny and is more difficult in short game / receiving. it also deteriorates faster than D80

So yesterday I played two games against my teammates and I think I can close this thread.
I played with the Darker (7P2A) and two Tenergy 05FX. The feeling, the ability to play a ball with a lot of spin from behind the table and over the table, the safety in my shots - I stick with this combination.
It simply suites my style. So: If anyone is interested in Nittaku Acoustic LG Size Grip (I think my blade is quite light, 84g) mine is for sale! :D
Thank you guys for your help and input! Acoustic is a great blade but in my case there are sadly better solutions which suites my style.

Don't change rhe rubbers, it won't do anything. During practice, actively try to hit the ball earlier and with more snap. A rubber won't make you more consistent.

Couldn't get away from the Tenergys eh!
At least you can use the Acoustic money to finance your next rubber change 😉

Interestingly, I got a taste for what your level actually means last week. One of our members had his 17 yr old nephew visiting from German, he's 1760 rated in Bavaria.
Man he was good! 😂
He beat all of us fairly comfortably but there were no Premier League players there that eve to give him a proper game. The longer we played the more points I was managing as I got used to his excellent serving and short pimples on BH but I still only managed an 11-7 at best and averaged at 11-6 over our matches.
I've played better players in the past but none so young and not many with his all-round game, the control and ease with which he played was impressive.
Anyway, this more belongs in the chit chat section but just thought of it as I see 1850 in your first post.
Glad you found your solution anyway, onwards and upwards!
