rubber forehand penhold - indcations

I switched back to my equipment, I started using 7-plywood and my game improved. I saw a post here indicating that the Chinese always use 7-ply + h3 boosted on the forehand, but my knees aren't that good and my mobility isn't the best right now. I really want a rubber with enough grip to drive my forehand more easily, without needing to generate a lot of force or energy.

Is the correct combination still h3 boosted + plywood, or can I use the 7-plywood with a Tenergy 05 or some other faster rubber?

The post that i learned that rule: https://www.tabletennisdaily.com/fo...bout-boosting-and-equipment-in-general.33957/

when using penhold, forehand is key, this is why indeed the h3 neo boosted has no equal, but its also true that it needs a big physical form and technique to use it correctly

I would recommend you trying the dhs skyline 2, which was the standard forehand rubber of the penholders on the chinese national team team before the h3, this one is really alike but it does not need all the physical condition as the h3

if skyline 2 its too hard to find, just go with the tenergy 05 hard, this version of the rubber is the one that excells on penhold

+1 for this. I used Skyline 2 commerical for a while and I definitely liked it more than Hurricane 3, but I needed something harder so I went back to Hurricane for a while. Tenergy 05 Hard, Rakza Z Extra Hard, Dignics 09c, Donic Blue Grip J1-3 are all easier to use than Hurricane 3.

I came from a 7 ply wood blade (Sanwei Fextra 7) CS penhold with Der Materialspezialist Spinfire soft on FH, now I'm using the Harimoto innerforce Super ALC CS penhold with Rozena 2.1mm on my FH, I'm loving the Rozena now it has lot's of control, it has the catapult effect (but not too much) of a Tenergy so it has speed if need to, I'm staying on this set up since I'm still adjusting my stroke angles. Rozena for me is a good try.

I know Tenergy 05 Hard is used by many JPen players. I see many Japanese players have it on their 1 Ply blades. But I think the OP is more interested in CPen and the Chinese philosophy?
Wong ChunTing was using 05Hard on the forehand but switched to 09C, which is also what Qiu Dang uses.

I think the standard choices are Skyline 2 and Skyline 3. I think you can get them in Provincial blue sponge and the national version is rarer. Try prott?
The Skyline series is especially made for penhold players. The TG2 was Xu Xin and Ma Lin's rubber. It's got a low throw, less sticky. TG3 is more balanced, has a higher throw and is more sticky like H3 for Wang Hao.
The other option is the Xuperman Powerplay X which was developed especially for Xu Xin. He used it in Nationals and CTTSL. Apparently it's a little faster than you'd expect. I'm excited to try it this summer, but waiting until the regular season finishes. It's stickier than commercial TG2 from what I've seen.
Skyline requires a lot of wrist, body mechanics and 4-5 layers of booster as you'd expect from a Chinese rubber.

Edit: if you're not able to use as much body, Xuperman could still work, but probably just use a very fast blade?
