I hate repeating myself. As stated in my previous post, Moregard is free to prove to the team that he's worthy of respect equal to his demands. Otherwise, Harimoto is right to take Moregard lightly (and not Kallberg) in contrast to LYJ and Felix.
WTTC 2026
MT QF
SWE - TPE
M1 Moregard 0-3 LYJ (-8, -9, -11)
G3 02 TO for SWE, 03, 13, 14, 24, 26, 56, 57, 67 TTR overruled the no-let call, 67, 69, 99 slight net for Moregard, 910, 1110, 1113
Shut out. Not even a game. It's appalling that Harimoto and LYJ have no Olympic or WTTC medals... Poor luck.

What do we know about it? What makes a danish ”rebel” the best choice to front Swedish table tennis?
There are strong table tennis connections between Skåne - Sweden south and Denmark - no surprise if they were looking for a new coach. Not surprising at all if Sjöberg decided to step down.

Do anyone know if he has ever been a coach? I think it is almost to belittle more senior swedish coaches. Hopefully it will work out well

I thought those were rumours of him leaving. I wonder where he will go next?

Will Truls lose his personal coach?
Given the circumstances, their results at WTTC 2026 did not help. If it were not for Ranefur, they could've lost 0-3.

So long as Moregard remains as the top SWE player, I guess things will not change much.

A difficult job and situation await Maze.

Who would've thought Kallberg would be the only SWE player left in MS after R16 of ETTC 2026?

Did you watch the game?
The Norwegian played great. But he was given an advantage by (questionable) faulting Truls serve. Truls lost the next 4 points easily. Than it was too late to recover. The worst part is that they had hawk eye so no chance to challange. That is not acceptable….

But in the interview afterwards he didn’t complain.

The Norwegian did deserve this win but Truls was on his way turning the match around when the umpire called a serve fault and gave the Nowegian the point.

The serve rule needs to change…

Cheers

Getting faulted is within reason, especially his suspiciously low toss. At this point, Moregard's matches in recent years have been full of drama that it honestly surprises me the umpire didn't yellow-card him more.

The ball is at eye-level, way above the net. So is the problem that he released the ball too late?
It doesn't look low at all and he is hardly benefiting from doing this. He does similar serves the whole match, so it's hard to understand the point of the call to be honest. As Truls says, it just ruins the match.

Truls has one of the most straight tosses where the ball is very visible all the way. Even if we consider it's from where the ball was released (even then 16 cm is not much and the toss should cover it), he's just not getting any extra benefit from the serve. It's pretty hard to tell when he releases the ball as he follows through and sort of covers the ball with his hand.

If you'd argue otherwise, please explain to me.

Even so, not very professional letting a thing like that cost him the game and match. But then, part of the Moregard charm is his personality.

The "verticality" has always been an issue, it is often described as a height issue, but it is often a toss angle *and* height issue as significant height tends to make toss angles that are not vertical a bit more acceptable. Truls has been faulted for this on quite a few occasions at strict WTT events so he isn't completely innocent, though he has improved it in recent times, the question is whether and why if not the tournament doesn't have WTT equipment for reviewing serves.
