I glued both of these rubbers to the same blade to compare. They have very similar rebound and grip. Maybe LAC rebound is 2% higher? or maybe not. It's very very close though.

LAC is harder though, even though I have Rxton 7 H40 which is the hardest version. Rxton 7 seems softer on both the topsheet and the sponge. LAC's topsheet seems dryer and earthier. Rxton 7 seems more moist and slick, but maybe that is just because my Rxton 7 is new while LAC is a bit older.

Tomorrow I will try hitting with these to see if I prefer one over the other.

That's what I wrote on the Loki thread. Rxton 7 37º seemed like a LAC with a BH oriented sponge. So I'm not surprised that at 40º it's similar to LAC. Then I'm confused. You like LAC but you did not like R7.
I tried 2 versions of R7. One was the H39 version, and I felt that the rebound was too low and the throw angle was too low, all my shots fell short.

The H40 version felt good, the rebound was medium-high, and the throw angle was high, my shots felt strong and long. This version of R7 I liked very much. This version is quite similar to LAC. The H39 one I tried wasn't similar.

Loki is pretty weak on consistency. Rubbers vary quite a lot from batch to batch and sheet to sheet. I don't know if the difference that I felt was from the batch inconsistency or from the hardness difference.

What will you use the R7 for ? What with your profile setup are you not satisfied with ?
R7 I will use for fh.

Next time I will try boosting it. If it has a strong reaction to booster i may try it for bh. But i dont think it will. The Loki small pore sponge generally doesnt react much to booster.

Im satisfied with my existing setups. I just like to experiment for fun.

I'm still very confused about this need, for intermediate players like us, to boost chinese rubbers on the FH, to obtain something you could have with other rubbers without boosting.
Which rubber do you feel is good without boosting?

I feel boosting does add 5% more spin and speed, so why not?
For me its fun to do. So why not?

For FH ? All the rubbers are good without boosting. They are more or less suited for my play style and technique, but none lacks speed or spin. I boosted LAC once, and I lost so much control, it was absurd. Unboosted, I win a lot games thanks to my FH, so I guess LAC is fast enough for my level.

For BH, it's different, I felt the lack of bounciness compared to tensor and it was really affecting my game. And it was not a matter of max speed, it was a matter of my play-style and technique, made of little punches more than spins, that needs bouciness and high arc. And that's why, finally, I'm choosing a tensor instead of a chinese rubber on the BH.

Have you tried Moon 12 or AK47 red for bh? or boosted Big Dipper?

I found all these to be bouncy and great for bh.

There is also the new 729 Aurora Pro, which I may try to get during Singles day

I tried Moon 12 and it was way too slow on my Fang Bo B2. I tried the Aurora Pro (blue jacket) and it's qualities are below ESN rubbers (except price). The new Aurora is this one ? https://fr.aliexpress.com/item/1005...tuvGJGQE&utparam-url=scene:search|query_from:

Regarding Big Dipper, I did not boosted it. I'm pretty sure it will be too fast. And finally, my game required the tensor effect. I think that I'm like Aruna, he plays with more bouncy rubbers than the rest of the top players, because he spins less on the BH than the others.

For me, Moon 12 is fast. I don't see why anybody would find it slow.

Yes, that is the new Aurora Pro. I don't know if it's truly an upgrade over Aurora Max, but it's worth a shot.

Just try boosting the Big Dipper, you have nothing to lose. I found that it plays really great, other than the hardness.

I love Moon 12 on FH, and it was fast, but on BH, I found it slow. But it's slow because of the low arc compared to what I always used.

I will boost my red Big Dipper to test. I also boosted a Volant Phoenix 2 but it's on another blade, Sanwei HC-1s.

But, honestly, after everything I tried, what suits me best right now, with my play style and technique, is a 45° tensor. It's already a change, until september it was a 38° tensor. If I bloc spin more and more, it will be 50° in February and then maybe I'll play chinese on the BH.

Boosted VP2 is very very fast. At first, I felt it was even too fast on my fh. But now I am used to it.
