Are we even sure what the composition of this blade is?
Some sites list the core as ayous, some list it as candlenut.
Candlenut is in between ayous and kiri in terms of hardness, so you'd think it'd be used more. But it's odd that Sanwei would use a rarely used wood in a mass-produced cheaper line. Candlenut is inexpensive however.
