New guy here. This is my first "proper" set up. I played with the premade Palio Legend for about a year but the rubbers pretty much wore off. so I decided to build one. Have been playing with it for a few weeks & very happy so far, but it's surprisingly heavy (compared to 175gr Palio) which takes some getting used to.
Gorgeous weapon there, brother.

That's a nice upgrade!

I'm exactly the same with [.....] and photography gear.
Tell us about the photograhy stuff 📸 🙂.
I like the cheap stuff so still stick to my A99 but lots of lenses as they are so available and inexpensive.
I also stick to jpeg as raw pp takes away too much tt time 🤫

probably not the right place to chat camera gear at length so I'll just say that I've currently got 2 x canon 5D mkIV and a heap of L lenses that could help pay off my mortgage if I sold them all!

says STAX X9000 is the BEST!
Got myself another Cybershape Carbon, wanted to try straight handle instead of FL(CONC) I already own... also asked seller to try to find me blade with weight around 88-92g, and he actually found one with weight exactly 90.0g...
1726480550999.jpg
So far like it very much (it's my main blade for now), but I feel it's mostly not due to st handle, but very suitable weight and balance for me...

Also, for a very long time wanted to try one layer hinoki blade, and finally bought myself new toy, it's Nittaku Miyabi blade...

Really pretty and great quality blade IMO, a bit heavy for my liking (weight is 93g, if I remember right), but still tolarable...
Tried it with some old rubbers I had...

Liked it very much on "training" (just playing randomly with a friend for a couple hours), but after a few lost games in tournament changed to Cybershape... two problems, one is short and soft play (it's too "bouncy" and uncontrollable), second is that black rubber (Gewo Nexxus EL50 Hard) IMO it not for this blade (the red one is Joola Dynaryz AGR 2.0, and it seems fine for me on BH)... so bought two new Joola Dynaryz AGR max and assembled new racket...
photo_2024-09-07_19-07-36.jpgphoto_2024-09-07_19-07-39.jpg
It's became even more heavy, and it feels even heavier, still tolarable for me though, but after playing with it 15+ minutes and changing it to Cybershape, the Cybershape feels like a feather... But again, playing in "training" with it was great and fun, but after a couple of games on tournament (obviously lost) I changed to Cybershape again... Problem no.1 is too much for me to handle, short play is very important in my playing style, and it's a pain with this blade, so not for me, but not planning to sell it, because it's just so much joy and fun to play with it, so will keep it for ocassional "trainings" with friends...

you need to stop
I know... One day I definitely will :p

how's that alligator combi going? any flex? Mine broke due to humidity, i still dont know if a got a defective one or if the balsa just soaked too much sweat
I will check on thursday on my friends one, as mine was not played a lot... But based on the fact, that
* build quality is terrible (mine is almost warped, second one is kinda warped)
* they look and feel very fragile and easy to disintegrate (chunks of balsa came off when removing edge tape and it splinters easilly so I would reccomend a lot of sealing, both edge and blade face)

I would not be surprised if that was common for them to break :/

Share my racquet photo?

Which one?

(Man -- talk about confusing open-ended questions... 🤣🤣)

Do you mean:

- Racquets I currently play with regularly? (i.e.: My comp bats)

- Racquets I DON'T currently play comp with regularly but DO like to have a fun hit with pretty regularly? (i.e.: my just-for-fun bats)

-Racquets I DON'T currently play comp OR have a fun hit with, but DO still love to own and carry around in my kit bag anyway, as they feel more like an old childhood friend than a piece of wood? (My legacy bats)

- Racquets that are prototypes of new blade models currently still in development and are fitted with testing runbers, that still aren't quite ready for release yet? (My 'not-quite-there-yet' bats)

- Racquets I actually forgot I owned entirely, but just happened to discover much later covered in dust down the back of the couch?

(🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻 ...My Complete and Utter Embarrassment Bats...

...and yes, there's more than one of them...

oh dear... 🤦🏻🤦🏻🤦🏻)

...Or do you simply mean all of the above?

Also, please define exactly what you mean by "your racquet".

Do you mean:

• "Your racquets" -- as in TT racquets that belong to you and are your own personal property used for playing the game?

Or do you mean...

• "your racquets" as in blades you've designed, developed and manufactured entirely from scratch, then subsequently fitted with a custom rubber combo, in order to create a commercial product for your small business in the aims of earning a living?

(Because I can do shots of all the above if necessary.... But we might be here a while as I decide which ones to photograph, and I really gotta draw the line somewhere 😂)

Please never ask a busy and aging bladesmith and/or hopeless EJ like myself these sorts of questions... I just end up horribly confused. 🤣🤣🤣

(...Lemme think about the problem for a bit and I'll get back to you 😜😜)

And there's nothing to play with :)
Legend has it that when asked how many bikes do you need, a real rider always answers with the formula n + 1, where n is the number of bikes they already own.
What is this blade with a star on the handle?

Hurricane Meng. Chen Meng's personal blade.

The handle is a grayish white with yellow and orange lines.
The lens features the words “Hurricane Meng,” and the back is adorned with a golden signature pattern.
Chen Meng's lens is fitted into the end.

This blade was trademarked but never released.

Second aligator looks okay and there is no flex, but it was not used much

I'd say it's the opposite - which one should I play today...😅 That blade is Palio S4 (started as penhold, then was converted to shakehand and I gave it some random sticker :p)
