Short pips on 1 ply Hinoki feels numb

I tried shortpips dhs dragonow in my backhand of 1 ply hinoki shakehand grip, 120grams, total of 215grams with rubbers.
On my forehand, 729 battle 2 blue sponge, I can feel the ball hitting through the wood. But on my short pips backhand,
it's difficult to control.
I cannot feel that it absorbs through the wood even on hitting,
it seems like it's up to the sponge only
I can chop it, sometimes it's backspin sometimes, no spin even I chop harder.
It's really difficult to block it. It always goes down the net. And if i hit with it,.sometimes it just slides to my short pips, I am aiming to different direction, and it goes to the other.
I feel that it's dead? And too numb. Only good for receiving serves and chopping most of it.
It seems like it is so slow for defense.
Even if just bounce the ball and hit it harder I cannot really feel that it penetrates through the wood.

Any opinions on this?
Is it because the set up was too heavy, so my backhand power cannot penetrate through the wood?
Or because 1 ply kiso hinoki is not good for backhand pips?

I use a Yin-He 10mm 1 ply and am very happy hitting Fh or Bh with nittaku Moristo max pushes and blocks. It is vibration free as you would expect. I like that when I do different touch shots or change speed that the result is what I expect. I Never think of the racket when I am playing which is as it should be.
Sorry you have probs. Is rubber stuck on ok?

Maybe because I have tried it before in a Sanwei Fextra 7 ply, and I can feel the hitting sound of wood. Thank you

Short pips aren't much for chopping, that's one.
Next, how much sponge is under them also makes a big difference in feeling.
Plus as SG mentioned above, the type of short pip rubber might be the issue too
Sorry, maybe I mean when I said chop, I mean receiving the service with a push a kind of heavy backspin but when the opponent loops it,.sometimes it fell into their net and sometimes it flies. Maybe, you are right since this is a hard sponge short pips

influenced by Chinese trad Ph friends I used to have sp Tyranno 1.5mm on Bh to 'feel the wood' but then went over to max moristo both sides. Feeling the wood is good touch wise though

One ply hinoki should be paired with Tenergy, match made in heaven. Coke and Bacardi or Mac and Cheese or Coffee with Coffeemate.

Stop these heretical thoughts! The crusaders will come after you soon!

"I Never think of the racket when I am playing which is as it should be." - the EJ lament

That's hard to accomplish when one has the choice of 20 bats, all with different blade and rubber combinations .
