Should I buy Hurricane Long 5

i mean i can execute my shots pretty well, beating my intermediate friend in multiple occasions. i just think my current blade isn’t powerful enough
Are you sure it's because of your racket, not your techniques 😋?
I think technique is part of your problem, but the premade blade is inconsistent in and of itself. Question, have you used an all wood blade before? If not, I suggest a fast all wood, like the YEO. If you already have and you switched to carbon, go ahead on the Long 5.

The power is in you not in your equipment. The danger with too fast setup is that you will start to hesitate and that’s baaad for you…
Switch your blade to a not too fast blade that you can use for a long run time…
Of in doubt go allwood < 6mm thick…

Absolutely. Just go with a consistently good setup. Or, better yet, go with what your coach says! If no coach, do what I said here.

And add with lazers advice on <6mm

Wise stuff right here.

I completely agree. All blades (and not just wood) I played at 5.9mm or thicker were significantly harder to control at medium to hard shots.

Guess what that feels like: the inability to generate good powerful shots. Can't get the timing right to rip through the ball.

You can borrow someone's paddle that is not a premade. If it feels not much different power-wise, it's your technique. If it feels powerful without losing control, then you need an upgrade.
i mean i have played with my coach’s racket with butterfly equipment and can control it pretty well

i wish i could but all of the members except for my coach are using premades cuz they said they dont have the right money yet

i have tried my coach’s inner carbon blade with dignics 05 before and could control it fine

Then it looks like you can go for the HL5. However, just using it and having it land on the table isn't controlling. You have to be able to use it well for slow shots, spinny shots, and fast shots. That is controlling.

If you can do it, then go for it!

If money is a concern do not get the long v, its a great blade (i mean look at my quipment lol) but splinters easily. If DHS is cheap for you the KING AcB uses a less fragile outer ply or something like the Viscaria, donic zjk original carbon or XIOM ALX 36.5 as they have koto outers which are much less likely to damage when reaplcing rubbers.

If money is not a concer then HL5 is great

I use Long 5, and I have to say, it’s a very nice blade. Honestly if you can’t afford a long 5, something similar is a Fang Bo B2, but even the non X version is faster than Long 5. Also depends, if one uses tackier Chinese rubber, it may compensate, and vice versa if one uses a fast tensor, MX-P or something.

Honestly, for a one year, I suggest stay away from Viscaria, or Timo Boll ALC or something like that. Butterfly blades are costly, undeniable. I don’t think there is a need to spend that much for a first blade.

Agree with @ThisIsSandro mentioning a hard outer all wood, the Yasaka Ma Lin Extra Offensive is actually a really not bad.

If one wants a Viscaria style blade, maybe the Yinhe Pro 01, I believe its outer ply is koto too, basically a Viscaria clone. You can check out the entire Yinhe Pro 01 03 05 series.

Last note if you are going for the Long 5, the handle. It’s thinner than most blades on the market, as is the case for DHS blades. But somehow the handle is thinner on the Long 5 than my Fang Bo B2, so do note if one thinks it’s an issue. It may bug some.
