With Kihara it always feels like 1 step forward and 2 steps back. I think about the final she played where she completely annihilated Joo Cheonhui, and now back to back R1 losses.
From the interview after stage 1 of the WTTC 2026 selection trial, Kihara said there's still some teething problem with her Tibhar pips.

After Miyuu taking the title at 2025 SC Muscat, it has been pretty rough. She lost to Shibata at 2026 SC Doha. Then lost to Huang Yu-Jie at SC Chennai though it's possible that she bowed out early so she could attend the WTTTC selection trial. But she loses to 17 yr old, Mao Takamori, at the selection trial. I noted earlier in this thread, Adriana has been playing really well beating both Odo and SYB in T-League so it was going to be a tough 1st round draw for Miyuu.

You make it sound like Coton was the 10th seed.

This match was incredible, lum was playing superb, the around the net and the curve ball to the forehand side were mesmerising. Sad he couldn't close it, it could have been the win Nich needs to really pull together his confidence

Kihara has been pretty unstable so nothing is surprising here.
i don't like bets whose eventual payout is in 10Y or more. such a poor use of capital...

not in top 10 at the end of the season i'll give you 2:1 odds for 100$ you're getting paid to take the trade
Not sure whether these are American odds where you would pay me $300 if you lose and get $100 if you win or something else. I am confident in Diqz but a 12 month horizon is too narrow. I would rather improve your side of the best and extend it to LA 2028. Since you are confident she is at her peak and ready to decline, it makes sense for you. I can send you (or whoever we choose to escrow) whatever I owe upfront since I would be taking the smaller side and then we can close it out with whatever we need to settle.

Live stream on T2 is complete garbage.

I don't believe that's even 20 actual frames per second delivered.
Most likely only 1080p/30fps. T1 T3 and T4 were 1080p/60fps on Youtube.

I don’t know why there is inconsistency with the tables in terms of the stream quality. Is T2 using bad quality cameras that can only do 30fps only.

We really need a better tech person to manage and setup the Youtube streams better if T1, T3 and T4 can get 1080p/60fps then why can’t T2.

Sidorenko is a comeback king. Very mentally strong.
Not only that, left-handed with great ball control and a strong backhand who knows when to play parallel shots.

I hope it doesn't get lost in the discussion of Adriana's ranking that what she's accomplished in her career so far is downright amazing. Who would have thought a girl from an island with very little in the way of table tennis resources (even less so than the USA) would make it to top 20 in the world. She's the pride of Puerto Rico. And I remember way back watching a video of how the mayor of the city she lived in was always tuning in to watch or hear her matches and was always asked by residents about how Adriana was doing. Like every other pro player, she's had her struggles along the way. But I'm pretty sure her fellow pro players highly respect her game. It's only some stubborn netizens that don't think much of her game.

Left-handers remain a difficult clip to get around!:D

Not gonna give even a little credit to Adriana?
I love Adriana, well, her playing, that is.;) She played well, but it wasn't that difficult against a truly substandard Kihara.

I hope he will take huge confidence from this anyway.
At only 20 he is one of those players I've wondered how much he might have. Can look and play incredibly at times (much like Gauzy himself maybe) only to lose.
Maybe he kicks on from here and gets a few wins under his belt 🤞

So far the best match of the year until this moment.
Hats off to Lum and Simon! They both delivered an incredible performance!

No I’m not American. To clarify Your payout would be 200$ if you win , -100 $ if you lose .

If you want the American option == anytime between now and expiry I’ll fix it at the end of 2026

LA is a very long time away. Too much optionality for giving you odds. If you want LA2028 I’ll make it a European Option we just look once at her WR coming into the Olympics. If you want at any point in time till LA then I give you 1:1
