A good question indeed. Well, we've learned from our longspan experience with a good many of inverted sandwich rubbers as follows
-- within a range of 0,3 mm sponges of a type will play much the same.
E.g. 2.2 - max
1.9 - 2.1 mm
1.6 - 1.8 mm
1.3 -1.5 mm

Again, you can see many @butterfly Tamasu sponge sheets using the range of 0.3 mm as a thickness differentiation.
REMINDER TO NOTE: Take some precautions when dealing with China products. The thickness indicated on the products may be inadequate to a real size.

Be happy.

In general, thinner sponge = better feel/feedback to the blade = better control.

Of course thinner sponge = less power. I find 1.9-2.1 mm is good enough to create decent spin. ~1.9mm makes it hard to generate spin.

My FH is always 2.1mm H3.
I find 1.9mm or 2mm the sweet spot for BH.
