Stable All+/Off- setup

I'm looking for a table tennis racket that is forgiving in offensive shots but stable in blocking play.

I had the Virtuoso Plus together with Tenergy 19 and Dynaryz ACC. It felt too fast for offensive shots. I switched to an All+ (Inzone Columbia All+). It felt good for offensive shots but too unreliable in blocking play. I often get the feeling that the ball "dies."

Should I use harder rubbers on the All+ blade or softer rubbers on the Virtuoso?

Honestly, both methods will work and both will have opponents as well as proponents.

Pick a side, choose the blade you like best and adapt that to your skill level.

I would get slower not necessarily softer rubbers for the Virtuoso+
For FH a great choice I think would be Tibhar Hybrid MK, Maybe Donic Accuda (or Bluegrip) S2 for BH.

Is Virtuoso Plus really that fast?

I have a regular Virtuoso, and I feel it is too slow for me at this point. I can make faster shots using legs and body rotation + swinging faster, but regular shots are not that fast.


You could get slightly thinner rubbers. Like go down 2.1->1.9 or 1.9->1.7mm.

Looking at your set-up (Alpha SGS), I would prefer your set up compared to Waldner Senso Carbon. WSC is more flexible than Alpha SGS, therefore Alpha SGS is easier for blocking / flat hit. If you can choose regular Alpha (non-SGS) it is even better, because it is a bit more "stable" / stiffer compared to the SGS version.
