I played table tennis in my early days with the following setup.
- Blade: Butterfly Gergely Tamca 5000
- Forehand: Tibhar Nimbus Soft
- Backhand: Nittaku Hammond FA (Short Pimples)
- Forehand: Tibhar Evolution FX-P
- Backhand: Yasaka Rakza PO (Short Pimples)
- Forehand Topspin: I feel like I am not generating enough spin on my loops/topspins compared to before.
- Backhand Counters: I lose control during short-pimple counters/blocks; the ball feels unpredictable.
- Why do these modern pimple rubbers feel so uncontrolled or lacking in spin on a classic stiff carbon blade like the Gergely?
- What rubber combinations (or blade + rubber setups) would you recommend for a returning player who wants to restore spin on the forehand and control on short-pimple backhand counters?
