Sudden loss of tackiness in battle II national

So this is a bit strange. I have a 6-7 month old battle II national blue sponge on my FH and a 3.5 months old battle II national orange sponge on my BH...until last week both rubbers were quite tacky and it was possible to lift a clean ball up in the air for 3-4 seconds. But just last week, in the span of a day or two - both the rubbers became barely tacky (like barely able to lift the ball for half a second). I have tried cleaning the rubber really well with water and also a butterfly rubber cleaner. But I don't see any noticeable improvements. Even the protective sheets are sticking quite weak.

The ball now slips quite often because of this and I feel less confident during gameplay. Both rubbers were boosted with two thin layers of Seamoon booster about a month back.

Does any one have any idea what could be the reason behind this sudden change ?

For complete info - I play in Prague where the humidity has been a little high recently but nothing crazy.

Coat the rubbers with olive oil and leave overnight till the oil has dissipated, the tack should now be restored, this worked for me with Rakza z

Any idea why this happens btw ? I would like to avoid this situation in the future (if the cause is extraneous that is)
