Sword Razor blade

Hi!

I would like to know if anyone is familiar with, plays with, or has tried the Sword Razor blade. Also, I’m interested in the quality of the blade and whether it is good for defensive chopping.

I currently use the Victas Koji Matsushita Offensive. Previously, I played with the Butterfly Diode V, and I started playing defensively with the Andro Timber 5 Def. I’m mentioning these blades as a reference so you can tell me whether the Sword Razor is slower/faster and softer/stiffer compared to the ones I’ve mentioned.

Thx!

I have used other Sword blades before and the quality was as good as what I use now (Yasaka Falck W7). I suspect it is a quality blade. Certainly billed as a chopping blade. I am sure it is quality. But is it good for your game? Only one way to find out. What pulls you away from the Victas blade? Is it too fast?

The Koji Matsushita Offensive is a bit fast and stiff/rigid, not so much in attack but when maintaining chops far from the table, especially if the opponent's topspin is fast and flat. That's why I was looking for something slower and softer.

I didn’t want to spend as much as buying the regular or generic Koji Matsushita, and I came across this blade, which seemed like a good price and appears to be of good quality. Otherwise, I think the Butterfly Diode Pro (or Diode V) could be an option.

Think here is the best place to drop my first impressions of Sword Razor. Bare blade, not sealed.

The good:
Ayous top layer
Frequency 1160Hz
Dimensions 165x155mm
Speed at low impact ALL
Relatively stiff
The sweet spot is bigger than 5ply defensive blade like Yinhe 980 and 980XX, but smaller than the walnut marvel Goriki Danshi.
Thickness between 6.06 and 6.15mm
Even layer thickness
Average dwell, not springy.
Big handle, similar to 980 but 2mm longer.

And the bad:
Weight 101g
Small dents in the outer surface.
Sharp edges and rough surfaces.

Bought from aliexpress with a box for 41€.

I sand it and fix the dents with water and local heating. Reduce dimensions to 160x155 and seal it with OSMO oil. Think about pairing it with TG3 and Super FX soft 1.5mm. Will update the post in future.

Update 22 May 2026:
The blade is stiff and rigid, with muted vibrations on low impact but sharp wooden feedback on hard hits. I am using it with TG3 and Pimple Slide. Super FX soft 1.5mm is not dangerous for my opponents. TG3 BS is a spin demon, but the hardness of 58 degrees makes the throw angle very low. On this blade the throw is even lower, so that is probably not the best combination. Pimple Slide with 1.2mm custom sponge plays very well. I don't find big difference in my pips game when switching between Razor and Goriki Danshi. With the inverted game, Goriki Danshi is overall more controllable and feels a bit more flexible. My conclusion is that Sword Razor is a very good blade for the price. Can be solid update for Yinhe 980 - same soft touch of the ayuos top layer, more rigid, with better control.
