There are some players who break pips often. I am not one. In years of LP play I have probably broken one or two-it has been so long that I cannot remember. One player on another board (OOAK) seemed to break pips all the time. It has to be a technique thing.

Well, technique maybe helps, but it is true that some pips have really a bad quality. It is also connected with the material they use for making the pips. Not all brands use same quality material.

There is no doubt that quality varies. I have used cheap quality, good quality and everything in between. Pips just don't break for me. It certainly can be a combination of factors.

I have been using Dornenglanz for the last 8-9 months. Not one pip has broken off. I block, push, and also hit hard with it almost like using inverted. And this same sheet has been used on two blades, which means it has been removed from one blade and glued on another. Seems very durable to me.

One think about quality is durability. I have tested pips for more than 20 years and I have neves see pips with more durability than P1V. I still have one tsp p1 (now P1V) since 2015 that I bought it

In Japan LP are really popular. You get a lot of chance to play against them. There’s much more variety of rackets here.
I started with feint long 2 about five years ago. Very good allround LP imo. This year I switched to p3v. The it’s a real trip. I have good days and bad with it. Opponents definitely don’t enjoy it win or lose. The way the pips collapse. Such a bizarre rubber. You have to be really on your game.
As a new experience I have bought a sheet of Yinhe 955. How do you think that will play?
I use a lot of side sweeps and active blocks.
Also aggressive punch.
I enjoy chopping in practice but not using that so much in matches. Trying to Incorporate it a bit but mainly I’m close to the table.

Hi, I think for going close to the table there is a good idea also to try different rubbers and see which one is more convenient for your style. The point with Yinhe is always durability and that each time you by a new one, it would be quite different to the previous one. I prefer to invest a bit more and buy one with better quality that will last much longer producing the same effect. In my case, I would suggest to you the P1V if you already are used to pips. Check some videos from Ni Xia Lian and you could check if the game style she propose is interesting for you. She is the best using P1V
