Hi guys,
I have been playing with a Xiom Stradivarius for about 6 months now, and I am happy to say that it is a very good blade and suits me quite well.
The only issue I have with it, is that it has a thickness of something like 5.7, 5.8mm, whereas I previously used relatively thick, all-wood blades of ~7mm.
Because of this, whenever I hit a fast forehand drive, it almost feels as though the blade is about to snap in half.
So now I am asking if there is a blade out there that plays like the Xiom Stradivarius, but is ever so much thicker.
The blade composition for the Xiom Stradivarius is:
koto - aramid carbon - ayous - kiri - ayous - aramid carbon - koto
Playing with Xiom Omega IV Europe (FH) and Xiom Vega Europe (BH)
This might seem like a strange topic, and maybe I should just suck up and keep doing my drills, but it has really started to affect my confidence when playing in matches and leagues, and I shun away from forehand drives now, afraid the blade is about to snap one day.
Thanks very much for your time,
Eric
