Togami loses deuce in the 5th to Kubik who plays some mind-bending points. He doesn't play the 4th singles which hopefully was just a decision to give Abiodun more experience and Togami more rest with hopefully nothing about Togami's health being an issue. There are upcoming tour events on his schedule.

A number of Japanese women are playing in ETTU Champions League: Yurika Namba. Emiko Taguchi, Miu Hirano, and Kotomi Omoda. Miu Hirano beat Emiko, but she lost to Yurika.

Great effort by Kotomi but fell short. She had to win 3-0 for her team to win.

Congratulations to two tough as nails women: Miwa Harimoto 2026 Champions Macao WS champion and Hitomi Sato 2026 Contender Panagyurishte WS champion.

Sato surpasses Honoka in tomorrow's rankings update with this title. This might have implications for who goes to the 2026 Asian Championships. Japan's selection is finalized 14 days prior to the entry deadline for the Asian Championships, but it's not clear what that date is. The Asian Championships itself runs Oct 19-25.
