I was at a big tournament on Sunday. My club mate joked that I have played half of the participants and I'm told him he is exaggerating, but then I started counting 😅
TT world is small
and smaller if you travel a lot.
I haven't been traveling much in the past 5 years, but in my teens to early twenties, I done over 20 something countries and made sure to meet key people in the TT space. I mostly meet them with a heart of wanting to learn something from them.

Zion had a great match against 47 year old Wu Jiaduo.
Zion said, the first time she saw Wu, she was still in elementary school and Wu was WR11.
Wu still has it in her, taking out Zion 11-1 in the first game. Zion (19 years younger than Wu) had to come back from 0-2 to win 11-9 in the decider.

Zion's trip, she played 4 singles, winning 3. Loosing only to Bruna (no1 player in Pro A) 2-3.

Kotomi won 1 loss 1, beating Adina 3-0 but loosing to Goda 1-3 (game 2 was so crucial and Goda's time out turned the match away).
Kotomi had some photo shoots taken with the team and also appeared in the local media.

The problem with you posting these articles in French, is that with difficulty I can read them, so I’d feel bad using Google translate on it, but it takes me ages to read!

Haha
Well, I haven’t used google translate yet.

Next time I will ask these French media to not write them in French.

edit, here is the google translate

Season 2025/2026 has kicked off in Germany, Austria, France for me.
Spain and Portugal the players will be flying out next week.

Basically around 15 players in the 1st leg, with some cancelling 1st leg matches due to scheduling conflict/injuries etc, otherwise, would be over 20.

I put a soft cap on my capacity handling around 40 players, so far there are 35 contracted with me.
Luckily they don't all play the same time, else I need to hire assistants.

In the same time, I have also arranged 3 sparring partners, while one of them arrived in Beijing Smash this afternoon.

A top Indian junior girls player will be visiting and training for a week next month and I am expecting Swedish national junior boys team and a senior women visiting around New Years.
Also in talks with a French Pro A club to bring they "cadets" to train next year.

With the other training center I am assisting, already 2 players are visiting with tickets purchased and another 1 or 2 will be coming later in the year.

I haven't used my potential to push the amateur training, pro sparring and pro training, as some coaches and individuals has reached out to me about hiring coaches/sparring. So this "market" is actually a lot bigger than I thought.

While in the busy part of organizing this wheel to turn, I went to train with semi pro U19 girls team this afternoon.
The girls trained 3 hours this afternoon (and 2 hours this evening), I was done in 1.5 hours. Good work out. Just need to drop 10-15 kgs, and I would move better.
The coach said I should train again tomorrow... I replied that I need to rest for 3 days first.

PS. Didn't notice this thread is a year old now.
should celebrate!

Thanks to all that have reached out and offered assistance connecting clubs in they countries.
and welcome to all those that would like to visit Taiwan (one day I might branch out amateur training in Japan/Korea too)

So agency part super busy. Here is an update:
  • Other than players flying to Europe, some returning to Asia.
  • Some at Chinese Jia A league this week.
  • I'm flying to France on Sunday with a USATT2650/TTR2350 player to train there for 10 days.
  • I have a female chopper in Philippines now training with the national team (she bought tickets cheap and went on holiday, but wanted some TT, so I arrange 2 days with the national team).
  • I'm also looking to send 2 sparing partners off to Philippines next week to train with a university team.
  • Was supposed to have 2 to 3 players in India this week, but we push it out to mid November.
  • Have a sparring in Tunisia for few days already with Dina at the African Champs, I didn't realized she played Goda when my player was in the junior national team and Goda actually recognize her still after a few years

With the trip to India for the UTT and now flying to France are the players themselves covering your travel fees and expenses or are you funding that yourself?

had a chat with Aruna today on how else we can assist Nigerian kids, other than sending materials/goods.
So, I have the task of finding 2 European clubs for 2 of his recommend players and hopefully can grow from there.

the federation has no funding for these players, and these players lack international competition - very similar to many of the players I manage, so I suggested, lets try, even if it is just few matches a season, we must start some where and Aruna agrees.

Immediately, Aruna video calls them, introduces me, and we shared contact details. This is Aruna for you - he will do the talk and also do the action.

So someone asked me if I can be coach for him/her at WTT tournaments.

I've been arranging coaches and sparring for few players already. I don't normally put myself in and compete with my clients, but I am tempted.

Should I go back to coaching too?
agency business is very settled now and I can easily manage it any where on the planet.

Elite level coach is extremely different. Its actually a lot of hard work....

If we were to ask you, "Tony, why don't you coach someone in the WTT?", you'd possibly say something like "Well, first... an opportunity would have to present itself" (among other things).

As it seems, the opportunity is here... so why not do the question the other way around? :) "Why shouldn't you go back to coaching?"
"Are there downsides? What are they? Are you able to overcome them? If not, are they sustainable to a point where the pros of going back outweigh the cons?"

Personally I think it would be super cool to have someone from the community here in such position. I can definitely see myself in the situation where I normally wouldn't watch a specific Feeder or Contender event, and I end up opening the stream just to watch you and your player!

Let us know what you decide in the end! 💪
