hello all,

I'm an intermediate player, I currently use a BRIBAR bat with Friendship rubber, and while I generate good spin, everyone agrees it's time to upgrade. I'm looking for a high-quality setup that delivers great spin, strong attacking power, and excellent control. My main concern is choosing a combination that is too fast or advanced, causing me to lose control as I transition toward an advanced level. I'm currently considering top rubbers like Dignics 05, Tenergy 05, or Tibhar Evolution FX-P.

Pllease advise: Which blade and rubber thickness will offer me the ideal balance of performance and control? I'm based of UK. Any online shop or vendors recommedation will be highly appreciated.

many thanks

Control doesn't come from equipment - it comes from you. The faster / spinnier you go from where you are now, the lower your control will be initially. You'll regain control over time if your technique is good, and/or you are having regular productive practice sessions with a good coach.

Without proper, regular coaching, spending £200+ on a new blade with Dignics on both sides (or any other suggestion of a top-end setup) is potentially a risky waste of time and money. If you get regular coaching the risk goes down, but does not vanish. I tend to recommend that improving players use a setup that's a bit too demanding for them to encourage progression towards a modern attacking game, but not to jump so far ahead that you can't keep the ball on the table at all.

Hard to recommend without knowing more about you, your level, your practice schedule, etc.
