I try to order them ~1.9 - 2.1 ish. There isn't a huge difference. The difference is more noticeable when You get down to 1.7 and skinnier... It also depends on the hardness and whether You want to be able to feel more wood or not...

There is always some variation of 0.10- 0.15 mm from nominal thickness of sponge.
E.G.
The numbers you see on the BIG DIPPER envelope is 2.2 mm, and if measured by a digital caliper you get 2.03 mm.[/size]
