Sadly Dina is injured, thus allowing one of my other players in UTT, Zion Lee (Korea) now part of the PBG team.
A very strong sub.
But she has been training a bit way too much today (and everyday) and didn't have time to rest before informed she needs to play tonight.

the format is also going to be challenging to adapt

I was wondering why Lee Zion was playing today. Is Dina out for the whole tournament or just for tonights game only?

the rules are once you use a reserve, the player out, can't play again

I'm currently traveling in India and was lucky enough to catch some matches on JioHotstar. The pace is impressively fast — no towel breaks and a best-of-three format with the golden point rule (where the first player to win a point at 10–10 takes the game). It's genuinely exciting to watch, and I'm pleasantly surprised to see some Indian paddlers going toe-to-toe with well-established international players.

pace - you are spot on
with such pace, the level gap reduces a great deal.
It isn't just about lesser sets, but also the tempo. Every ball counts, you need 33 points for your team and if you give 1 set away, it is not good, so the pressure is next level.
The light, sound, and even replay for TV all requires getting used to (ie, you can't serve the ball, and need to wait for the replay to end).

Its a teams event, but you need to play all 15 games (5 matches), it isn't like before when the team has loss, you stop, here you must play on, so it is also very challenging for the loosing team to continue, while the winning team wants to win more sets.

the win/loss doesn't count, the set wins is the ultimate factor in the leaderboard.

having said that, our team has loss (we not the only strong team on paper to have this destiny) and Siqi and myself (maybe also Kirill) is on the flight out tonight.

It was a great experience, UTT staff is amazing in hosting events (can't find flaws), and I have met a lot of new friends.
I haven't traveled the world in many years, it is very taxing, but I really enjoy the social part of it, and seeing how we (new friends) can all help each other in the sport we love.

Unfortunate that your team is out. I was rooting for your team to make the playoffs. The positive out of this is Fan Siqi and Payas Jain were the main players who have performed well throughout this tournament and did the heavy lifting for their team. The other players in the team needed to at least win 1-2games per match instead of giving all 3 points to the opposition team.

How is Fan Siqi doing. I was worried about her shoulder in the previous match but seems in last night game didn’t have much shoulder issues compared to the previous match.

Siqi did get treatment and is better, but there is only so much treatment you can get while in a tournament.

you are right, you need 3 players to contribute and have some extra for bad days.
we did have 2 matches of 7 sets, else we would be lower down the ranking.
I recall of 1 of the 7 set, it was indeed Siqi and Payas putting the 7 together.

This venue had a lot of wind, thus certain styles like Aruna and Kirill, who play more away from the table, tend to struggle.
Even Kanak with his high toss serve, we were laughing on how much step he had to "walk" to get into position.

Tiago, Kirill and Siqi off to Beijing, while I flew to Taipei.
We both left Ahmadabad on the same flight to transit in Bangkok.

RIP to all those that loss they lives in the Ahmadabad crash.

I saw the news very early and informed the 3 others, and they all had an OMG response.
I guess we were very lucky to make it out all safely.
When we took off, there was heavy wind/turbulence. We were on a smaller plane though (A320).

I'm going through pics of Season 6, while I also have access to the earlier season.
They take probably 1000 times more photos than that of WTT and another other tournaments on this planet.
I was also looking at the earlier seasons and can see how wonderful it was before already.

and I came across a photo during the media briefing, where I was asked to translate for Siqi in front of probably 50+ cameras.

I am actually looking for the video too!
