Vendor says sticky protection films destroy tacky rubbers.

I was in a tt shop a few days ago and I was discussing with the vendor about the new hybrids and their effectiveness.

If course he says that tacky rubbers are a gimmick that cannot compete with tenergy, not like almost everyone in the top 20 plays with some form of tacky rubber but ok.

Eventually he started talking about how stickiness goes away quick and cleaning it with water destroys tacky rubbers, we were talking about a glayzer 09c btw. Then he said that using sticky films destroys tackiness on tacky rubbers and got me genuinely curious because I have started using sticky films on my hurricane 2 and haven't noticed anything yet, does anyone know more about that?
If the tacky adhesive film damages the tacky rubber, why, for example, does the Butterfly sell's Dignics09c, or Friendships sell's Battle II Gold with a tacky adhesive film on it? I'll use it for a while longer, then I'll change it to another, new tacky adhesive film.
I think the seller misled you, although, to be honest, I've heard this idea in several videos.
In my opinion (and I do it myself), tacky adhesive film is not suitable for anti-rubbers or rubbers that are not tacky.

I think sticky protection sheets are useless, they attract sooo much dust. I always use non sticky ones even on non sticky rubbers.... If they are thin enough there is an under pressure that will hold them. It works worse with thicker and stiffer ones.

After training, when I get home, I always keep the racket in the room (on a shelf) so that it dries completely, then I clean the rubber and stick the film.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but non-adhesive films don't stick to me (I see air bubbles even though I apply them with a roller), so I don't use them.

Small air bubbles are alright, I see them when my tacky rubber gets less tacky. Press them outwards using Your fingers. If they seem particularly cumbersome, open the protector sheet and close again, tighter.

On sticky rubbers, a non-stick protective sheet and a bank card work well.

Tibhar K2, Joola GT, Gewo Codexx EF pro all come with tacky/adhesive protective film as well. Using a tacky protective film on any inverted rubber will result in a better seal preventing the topsheet from oxidative deterioration. Using a tacky film seems to have an added effect of collecting dirt and dust from the rubber. And once the tacky protective film accumulates too much dirt on it, just clean it with plain tap water. From my personal experience with the abovementioned rubbers plus K3, Xiom C55, H3, Sanwei Target National, Friendship Battle 2, Palio Thors, using a tacky protective film has never failed to maintain the original topsheet properties. Ymmv obviously.
