Vintage Persson Powerplay - worth use?

Long time lurker, first time poster.

I have been gifted with a pretty old Donic Powerplay (for sure more than 10y). It was in her case and stored in a cellar (no mold whatsoever). Took me almost one hour to remove the rubbers and clean/restore the wood from the thick layer of glue that was used (I had to use a bit of isopropyl alcohol, otherwise it wasn’t coming off).
Now the wood seems as good as new but I don’t know if it’s worth to buy new rubbers and play with it.
is that any way to check if it’s still usable?

if there is no damage to the wood it is perfectly usable, 10+ years is no age for a well treated blade.

I guess it was well treated..it basically was inside her case and left with the rubbers on. but was on a shelf on the balcony (outside but not at the sun or rain).

Most likely still good as new. But a photo will help the experts in this forum help you. The PPP is a really good blade, and one of my faves. Assuming it is a Donic Persson Powerplay that you have.

I would like to have your opinions before putting new rubbers (if it’s worth).
Like I said before, the old ones were glued with a ton of glue and had to use something like acetone to get rid of the old adhesive.

To me it looks fine. I don't see any problems with the surface area apart from the dings around the edges. They wouldn't affect performance. I personally would have no problems using it.

But some others might be able to give you advice about the dings around the edges.

However I disagree with the "vintage" description. It is a modern Powerplay blade, similar to current production.

Vintage Powerplay will have white lens and smaller headsize.

What a coincident! This very evening, my club’s coach gifted me (ok, 10 bucks, but that’s just charity) his old Donic Persson Powerplay – fitted with Yasaka Mark V and Butterfly Tenergy05 Hard. Very nice to have as backup and rubber-tester.

Btw thanks for the confirmation. I was worried that some moisture could have penetrated the wood or that the heat could have made it “dry”.

I said "it is still in good condition" based upon the pictures that you provided. However, I can't confirm whether moisture has penetrated the wood or not. You can check it easily though. Just bounce a pingpong ball on the bare blade. You can feel it if something is not right.
