Viscaria cnt

I know I promised to stop discussing about equipment and I did focus on my training. My coach recommended me a CNT version of the butterfly viscaria. It’s basically a higher quality version of the normal viscaria with a gold label. It’s different than the golden viscaria though. I’ve attached a picture of it below. It’s easy to loop and has a large margin of error. It’s exactly what I was looking for in a new blade. I knew I should’ve listened to my coach’s suggestion. 😃

There is a special Viscaria version with a red stamp on it, limited series number, and normal Viscaria lens. Too rare and expensive for me to even think about getting one, lol

The one at the bottom --> is it an older version or is it just dirty from extensive usage?

The reason I asked is that long time ago, during the peak of Zhang Jike, there is one player with older Viscaria with black butterfly tag (I believe it is 90s or early 2000s Viscaria). I borrowed it from him just to play around and it is so "soulful" (I can't really describe it in words), so full of feeling. I was amazed because it is a carbon composite blade with arylate which is supposed to dampen vibration.

So later I bought a new Viscaria with grey handle, similar to the one shown above (light grey). It is just a stiffer, harder blade, typical of a carbon composite blade. There is no "soulful" feeling at all. So I am back to using my old wood blade.

It's not my picture, but judging from the misspelling of the word "performance" and the wood grains on the handle, it's indeed an older version.

Older version was softer, slower with better hold... But older Maze alc had the same characteristic between Freitas and Maze alc
Slower and softer adds spin and more gears and less mechanical composition of game. Viscaria is allround blade but sometimes your game starts and ends on backhand slap shots which are fun...
