I find the voc glue, the one that is sold in a tall bottle with the brush inside the lid, quite awkward to spread. It does dry very quick though and does have its uses especially if you want a new rubber on your blade and have to leave for the club in half an hour :devilish:

VOC glue tends to stick better and with a brush inside it’s handy. It also costs less
I find it quite messy to apply and seem to get little hard globules of the stuff and they are quite tricky to remove because it all dries up so fast. For the same reason it is quite tricky to create and even layer spread over rubber and blade. Still, I keep the bottle for emergencies.

BTW, the brush inside was not all that handy either because mine was at the bottom of the bottle, needed to be "rescued" out of the slimey stuff, carefully cleaned and dried and then with great skill-demand glued with epoxy inside the lid. Half the content of the bottle got probably lost in the process

Can you use VOC glue and Booster at the same time?
I’ve been doing this for a long time and haven’t noticed any problems other than the weathering of volatile substances over time and the rubber slowing down. Also, if the rubber already has a layer of glue on it, I often only apply glue to the blade. No problems

I used the Haifu voc glue. Never had any negative experience. The brush always stayed with the cap. I think they sell different viscosity? Mine was thin and easy to apply.

And it only costs me $5 NZD for 250ml

You be talking about ole Yosemite Sam 6-gun tootin bat wielding pips FH counter attack you BH... he gets zero advantage using the stuff, he uses it to adhere hiz rubbers, would pass any enez test next day... and we have pro players who glue clean with water glue fail enez, because factory glue bonding topsheet and sponge still gassing off newly opened sheet not aired out a week.

Haha yup that’s him. What exactly is the glue test? What kind of machine do you need?

Yes, normal voc adhesive will work as a waterproof layer on outer wooden veneers. Very reasonable option indeed.

For almost 20 years now, I have been gluing my rubbers with glue, which is sold in bulk at the “Everything for Shoe Repair” store. Previously, there were no other options and all the guys bought glue only there. There are many different options now, but this glue is the cheapest and works great. The downside is that this glue is more difficult to remove from the sponge, but there are different options for how to do this. Now I have found this option for myself - I apply the first layer of Yіnhe rubber glue to the sponge, and then apply my own glue on top of it and re-glue it as many times as I like
