What are the best scissors to cut rubber?

Right, if you use scissors that are not bent, I agree it makes sense to make more smaller cuts.
Rev 3 scissors are bent so depending on the rubber and the angle the scissors cut the rubber you might be able to really make nice curves along the shape of the blade while moving the blade while cutting. If that works, you barely see those small cutting steps/edges in the rubber.

I have been using only this type of blades for over 15 years, and I cut rubber not only for myself but also for many people who ask me about it. A pack of such blades is always in my case and does not take up much space, weighs nothing and costs practically nothing. The cutting quality is excellent and not a single cut on the finger in all these years.

It's said most CNT members use ss125 of Zhang Xiao Quan

That's what Ovtcharov is using:
Unfortunately its neither available on Aliexpress nor amazon or other western outlet. But it looks quite similar to some Kai models (N3160s), not sure if the blade will behave the same.

I'm looking for a solution to cut the rubber with a 2mm edge outside the blade. I will try to glue some thick protective edge tape directly on the blade (cut around the 5mm width) before gluing the rubber, and then use a scalpel around that edge tape. Has anyone tried this? Maybe works better with a scissor? Any input is appreciated.

Yes I did that, for me the box cutter 9mm width works the best. However I don't do the 2mm overlap anymore. With box cutter 9mm, since it is flexible, you can achieve small overlap, which is right about what I need. Then I put a bit of tape, which actually really helps, against those small hits on the edge and also to prevent the rubber from disconnecting on the edge, which can happen for various reasons.

Can you please describe what you mean by flexible = small overlap?

I mean you can bend it a bit. The overlap I do is quite small, essentially by bending the box-cutter, you press it on the edge of the blade, but cutting point on rubber is not really on the edge, the cutter is bent a bit, so there is this small overlap, which you can control to be the same around...

But this is really just my way, others have other way. Some prefer 18mm box-cutter. Some prefer scalpel, because it doesn't have that sharp-point, which may break the edge of the rubber a bit, if you cut too brutally.

Often I will just use scissors because it's easy to get a half decent cut and I don't need it to be perfect.
But when I cut with a knife I use a big box cutter because that's what I have. The blade is lightly oiled which is helpful but when that wears off I just breathe onto the box cutter blade, cut a bit and repeat. No need for bottles of soap water or whatever, just like the breath you can use to clean the rubber, also use it to cut smoothly.

Of course for some people, their breath alone will cut through the rubber by itself
