I talked to the shop owner and he said I should get Timo Boll spirit and tenergy 05, I know the 05 is not good for beginners but the shop owner told me Timo Boll spirt is controllable even though it is fast. Is it true that Timo Boll spirit is controllable?
Don't, the boll spirit is a quick blade meant for really advanced and competitive players,You'll need at least 2-3 years of training and competitive experience to handle such a blade and use it to its full potential.Only thing its going to offer over an all wood blade is a harder feel and a lot of speed while sacrificing control and ease of use.Don't overthink wood vs carbon, an all wood blade is much easier and fun to use just because of the overall control and ease of spinning the ball. And even after couple of years You'll most likely end up using tenergy05 or a similar advanced rubber thats got a ton of spin and speed.Hope this helps you out, and good luck for your TT career.

If you were playing with a premade paddle then under no circumstances should you go with TBoll Spirit and T05. Get an all wood blade, otherwise you'll buy the Timo boll and a week later you will buy a korbel xD

In my province there aren't any Chinese rubbers like DHS or 729 there.
I ordered DHS hurricane 3 online already.
Where I am at (Stockholm Sweden) there are no physical stores at all...
Online is definitely OK...

Get a cheap chineese blade too, why not a Sanwei Echo...
Stay away from TENERGY05...., If I were You I would have selected Yasaka Mark V or Neottec Katana (or similar) together with a Sanwei Echo blade.

Cheers

Shop owner just wants to sell.
you had fine recommendations. Primorac (wood) and Korbel are wonderful blades for beginners... Primorac is the best when you just start. Or a Butterfly Grubba - shit, now I'm a shop owner.

I gave my daughter a Primorac last year; it is an excellent blade. The next change gonna be faster rubbers for her. She's learning chops now and openings on fh and bh.. and I can't play casually anymore or she beats me.

I’m loyal, my club is sponsored by Donic. I have some Donic blades for backup, but their rubbers I don’t like. All my clothes exept for the shorts are Donic. Their shorts makes me feel like a lamp shield…

Just to repeat what everyone is saying and to answer a couple questions.

Do NOT get Timo Boll spirit. Do NOT get Tenergy 05. The shop owner just wants more money. Ok I repeated that message.

Gozo likes to randomly throw in some jokes here and there. Dark speed is part of his joke.

All wood blade like Primorac is fine. Hurricane forehand is fine. Rozena 1.9mm sponge is fine for backhand. this thread is getting wayyyyy too long.

I borrowed a zhang jike alc and black side tenergy 05 and red side hurricane something today. I went from a premade stayer 3000 but i can control the tenergy 05 on forehand while using it. I can do like fast loops/drives and counter loops with it. But my backhand is horrible tho

That's really interesting, typically Tenergy 05 is considered as the hardest rubber to control. Did you try Hurricane on the forehand? Maybe you just have a very good forehand.

Most people who play with Hurricane on only one side will use black H3. Is it possible that you mixed up which color rubbers you were using?

I only used the tenergy when testing forehand and only tenergy when testing backhand because the hurricane is broken and I checked that the tenergy05 is black and the hurricane rubber is red. Or is it that when tenergy05 becomes older it is slower? I don't know much about rubbers

Also why most people use black hurricanes on forehand? Why not red?
Two reasons:

1) Traditionally for Chinese rubber, I have been told that black is tackier than red. If you want to ask me why, that has been the gospel passed on from one decade to the next.

2) Blue sponge is very popular for forehand. Blue sponge only comes in black so there is no choice there. Why? I am not sure. One theory is that blue sponge will show through the red color in the top sheet and that somehow is illegal? However, Sanwei Target National has blue sponge but yet they do offer other black and red top sheets so....

Above is all I know about this subject.

yeah it's possible that the T05 has worn out. That's pretty amazing that you feel like you can control it on a carbon blade, though.

Still it's probably a bad idea to use Tenergy on your first custom blade. But if you really like it, then maybe you can switch to it after a year or two. Maybe your forehand touch is just very good.

I switched back to my hadraw 5 and DHS hurricane 3 and felt like I control it very easily

That's good. So now you can focus on power and technique. Try to learn how to hit from your legs and core, instead of your arm. This will produce shots which are extremely powerful and extremely spinny.
