The price of the blade does not always mean that it is good. Those one ply Hinoki blades probably play amazing but, no shakehand player could use one. They also break really easily because they are 1 ply.

There are many good blades out there. Many that cost over $100.00 USD; many that cost under $100.00 USD. Price does not always determine how good a blade is.

Decoy. I heard that Stiga Elriich is also on the high price. Obviously there's a price to pay for a high quality blade. Like billiard cues, the intricate design dictate the price. I'm sure someday Table Tennis manufacturer will consider the intricate design on the handle. Blade would be the best investment, it can last longer defending on the material used and can be pass on to the next generation to come.

Truthfully, I think, if you want a really nice blade and you want it to be special, one of the best things you could do would be to call a place like OSP:

http://ospblades.com

And have them custom design a blade for you. If you know what wood you like, you could probably get them to design exactly what you want. Handcrafted.

When I was in Beijing at Wangfujing (王府井) road, I was looking for an equipment shop to buy rubbers that were cheaper there than here in the Philippines. I stumbled upon a pretty strange blade that was in a glass display case. The price tag was insane, at about 20,000 Yuan or roughly $2100. It was Hinoki decorated with what looked like gold, too bad I couldn't take a shot of it, since the Chinese salespeople were really particular about picture-taking :(

There should be a committee on racket equipment. This sport needed a memorable history on winning racket, specifically during world championship. Let just say that the world champion can put his winning racket on the market.like auction, Obviously there a price to pay. This would be good for our sport.
Because coming up with expensive blade is easy. Just put any precious stone on the handle Then there you go, you're just paying the design without any history.
In today's world of sport ITTF should consider this, to give Table Tennis an edge. Just a thought. That reminds me the movie of balls of fury. Good day to everyone.
