i was more thinking that the weight distribution is completely head heavy and of course taking weight out of the handle makes it worse. I wonder if it is even playable

not massproduced but individually handmade

Just stuff something with a little weight in it and wrap it with grip tape

The grain pattern looks uneven. Left end looks denser than right end so if looking at your forehand side, 3 o'clock is less powerful than 9 o'clock. If you use the same rubber on both sides, and you consistently hit around the 10 o'clock area, you could twiddle for a better short game, and twiddle back for drives and loops!

Right, and that means the wood is sectioned horizontally. Single ply hinoki blades should be sectioned vertically, ideally in the middle so you can see the "eye" of the circles on both sides of the blade.
