First time posting in a forum, sorry if not clear

My coach told me to change my rubbers soon because the grip of my forehand rubber is wearing out. I have spent weeks overthinking on what to replace my Dynaryz CMD. I play offensive, and my skill level is around intermediate if that helps :)

Rubbers i considered:
Nitakku Fastarc G1
Tibhar Evolution MX-P
Joola Dynaryz AGR
Donic Bluestar A1 or Acuda S2
Yasaka Rakza Z

You can also recommend in replies :)

Why not the same?
Except for Accuda S2 they are all harder and Accuda is (in my opinion) too soft for FH.

For me, among those you have mentioned I would select Rakza Z. But it would be slower and harder to activate, you need to hit harder. If you want a little faster rubber maybe Fastarc G1, but both will be harder. Bluestar A1 is too fast for me. MXP I don’t like at all. Dynaryz AGR will be a harder version of what you have.

+1 on this

to the OP..
Why not the same rubber, if you are used to it. Has the coach given any other reason to change rubber besides the grip issue?

Tho for FH your Dynaryz CMD is, if I recall correctly, medium sponge hardness ..maybe go with G1 as alternative

What does your coach recommend?

And what would you want the new rubber to do differently from your current one?
These are two good questions.

But my initial reaction also was "why change?" - there is no need to look for an "upgrade" every time you change a rubber.
Get new sheets of the same if you´re satisfied and keep practicing :)

But if curiousity wins over reason, I agree with Lazer that nearly all rubbers you mentioned are pretty serious "upgrades", Rakza Z even being sticky/hybrid, a totally different beast to the soft CMD. If you really want something else - as nearly everyone does from time to time - you might want to take a look at Dynaryz ACC. The sponge is harder than that of the CMD, but softer than AGR.

I agree @Airoc, so if the coach says don't change, and you don't really miss anything... Don't change.

If you know what you are missing, take it up with the coach, they know your playstyle much better than any of us ever could.
And if your coach says you need something different, it would be nice if they come up with a suggestion ;)

I think you should consider Rakza 7. It's such a good rubber, is quite easy to use and has decent durability also.

post a gameplay video and tell us where a faster rubber would have won you a point that you did not win with your current setup. TLDR; you probably dont need a faster rubber.
You may be right, a faster rubber may not be a good thing (although slightly faster might also be fine) but it's not needed to record matches looking for points where you think a faster ball would have won it.
You can't know what an opponent would or would not have done if you'd hit a marginally faster ball...

If someone has really got to grips with their rubber and developed good technique where they can control and execute their shots with it then that's a good time to consider a faster rubber next.
It's the next thing to master as you develop and even if you're not hitting outright winners with that speed increase, learning to control faster equipment makes life harder for opponents and forces more mistakes.

The proof of that comes from doing it though.

Recording matches can be used for lots of things (examine opponents strategy, technique, your own technique, footwork etc) but assuming what the opponent might have done 'if', wouldn't be one of them imo.
