What's the natural upgrade from G1 and C1?

Hi guys, would like to hear your thoughts.

I'm been playing with the G1 (Max) FH and C1 (2MM) BH for the last few months - and I love it. I'm improving at a very good pace. I play with a Acoustic SG (bigger handle then regular).

I'm not changing my blade anytime soon - and I'm not in a rush to change rubbers either - but I do feel I can handle something more advanced (faster/Spinner) then my G1 and C1.

When the day comes I feel I want to upgrade the rubbers, what would you recommend I get?

Depends on what you want or need. Other rubbers will not be hugely advanced compared to what you have. Don't expect huge jumps in performance from here on out. Fastarcs are very good rubbers.
Most players don't need another rubber than this, if they are not looking for rubber with other (not more advanced) characteristics.

Kind of similar, but faster is the stiga mantra pro series. The XH version is also Harder than the G1, if you want a harder sponge.

Any other modern European or Japanese rubber would already be an upgrade in performance because FastArc G1 isn’t factory boosted and therefore doesn’t have any speed glue effect. If you want to stick to the same hardness range then Tenergy 05 would be the spiniest as well as the most durable rubber of its class, the ESN stuff from Xiom, Tibhar, Victas etc in the same class will be less durable and less spiny but some like MX-P might be faster in the first few weeks before the factory boost starts to wear off. Tenergy 05 doesn’t really loose its speed and springiness but it softens over time, more than most ESN rubbers but it also has the best topsheet durability of them all.

You should try your G-1 as a bh rubber since you are used to the feeling from G-1, u can figure out if you like it as a bh rubber since it's a harder version of C-1.

As for fh upgrade, you can consider the popular hybrid rubbers. Else you can consider 50degree rubbers like nuzn 50, mxp hard, ect... if you have concerns over jumping too much in terms of sponge hardness

it's hard to get much more spin from simply exchanging the rubbers and not adjusting technique as well if you are coming from a G-1/C-1 combination.

The most easy to test would be to test the G-1 on your backhand and see if you are capable to handle it. If you are not, then there is no need to think about switching there.

The remark of LimpUnicorn i would totally dismiss. Of course the G-1 and C-1 has catapult, but just less than most other ESN tensors.

If you are still a learner i would tell you to lean into rubbers that will make you use more of your body to generate power and strength. This will result in low power shots being less fast than with the G-1 probably, but with full body you will get more spin out of it. One example would be the Yasaka Rakza Z which is a good hybrid coming from the G-1. You will gain more spin on serves and loops.

Eh? My old, curly sheets disagree with you, as does the lovely clicking sound of a new sheet.

Yes it does, but gradually, and the result is still a very usable rubber. But replace it with a new sheet and the difference is huge.
but it softens over time, more than most ESN rubbers but it also has the best topsheet durability of them all.
I dare say G1 has a better durability than T05. The softening you mention is the sponge slowly breaking down the internal bonds from stress. Tenergy has a high tension sponge, which means it's already under stress in neutral conditions. Having it break down and soften faster and more makes sense, especially if you use it for a longer time.

See, people tend to say about rubbers they like that "they need to break in", whereas for rubbers they don't like, the statement used is "the factory boost wears off quickly".
It's the same thing, just worded differently.

Bottom line, you like the way T05 ages, and that's great.
