many european football clubs also have table tennis tables and they do play.
some clubs like Mainz even have a pro table tennis club under the clubs name.

so table tennis is actually quite popular and if you are no 1 in the world, it does open a lot of doors.
he also plays tt with celebrities and tennis stars,

not sure how many football matches he watched in vip suites this year along.... he is Mr Celebrity now

It's certainly popular as a pastime but most of the players I know just play for fun and don't even watch professional matches. Guess I'm just surprised to see him alongside such a legend as Luka Modric but I guess it's possible that Modric doesn't know who he is! 😂

CR loves to play table tennis and in fact when he was a youth at Sporting Club, he also played table tennis matches for the same club.

There are many photos of Messi playing table tennis too. Neymar, Ibrahimovic love to play it, and I believe even Liverpool also have internal table tennis matches between its players.
some Barcelona players and Waldner also had engagements before and also have a table in the facility

I think there are more football clubs with tables than not. and i'm talking about table in the football team, not a sub club table tennis club.

I know there are many who love to play it and that most of their facilities have tables but playing it recreationally and watching pro matches on the internet are a million miles apart.
I get that if you play football in the German Bundesliga you'll probably know who Dima and Timo are but as I said, most of our club players don't watch and couldn't pick the world's top 10 from a lineup 😂

Don't kno anything about this.
But the odd footballer being into TT doesn't change the fact that most wouldn't have a clue. It's still a niche sport with comparatively little exposure in mainstream media...

i'm pretty certain some footballers even posted taking photos with Ma Long, FZD etc at the Olympics
its really isn't odd footballers,
everyone has the internet and if you dig deeper, they probably follow each other on social media too

PS, I'm not talking about some random player, I'm talking about world champions
they probably will never know the Japanese players or Taiwanese players, but world champion - they will know.
They probably even watch the Olympic finals too, and try and do those kind of shots within the team.

I am surprised you didn't know football and table tennis are very close over the years.
I'm trying to remember if ZJK also had something going on with European footballers

probably a wise move.
They could get so much additional fans with just FZD sharing these photos
