Why are balsa blades mostly smaller than usual?

Hi guys,

A question popped into my head regarding balsa blades as I was thinking of a composition.

Why does most balsa blades have a smaller head size than the usual racket(157*150mm)?

Correct me if I'm wrong, for example ultra balsa v of spinlord and yinhe t11 have 155mm in lenght.

Is the reason for the smaller headsize is for making the balsa more dense and harder? (but still soft)

It's not because I hate soft blades. I just love the soft feel yet loud click of balsa but hate the small surface area.

I would love to hear your comments, suggestion, and/or recommendations

Basing it on yinhe t11+
Here is my planned composition to be made. Focusing more on the soft feel yet powerful blade. 9mm blade

Limba-.5mm
Spruce-.5mm
Soft carbon-.5mm
Balsa-6mm
Spruce-.5mm
Soft carbon-.5mm
Limba-.5mm

Your problem is that you haven't looked around enough.

I have two Dr Neubauer Firewall Plus blades that have very big heads. They are used for push blocking but also are good for flat hitting too. It is possible to loop with a brushing stroke.

I had a Butterfly Balsa Carbo X5 that has a head the same size as the Timo Boll Spirit blade or Timo Boll ALC. I could exchange rubbers and they would fit perfectly.
