I see your point, actively trying to irritate your opponent by excessive shouting is terrible sportsmanship. However, where do you draw the line?

If we started penalizing this, the umpires could start penalizing every "cho" they wanted to which would invite chaos.

There is a reason Harimoto said ahead of WTT CS Yokohama 2026 that Kishikawa doesn't talk much and often gives hints for him to solve on his own. Harimoto never served fast long, when Moregard consistently anticipated and handled his short serve to his short BH or middle with the chiquita. It's a miracle he managed what he did in the last two games.

Nah it's clearly a problem that is only getting worse with juniors as they look up to the best of their heros and a lot yell like demons. I also think that as the yells are basically 'great shot' it's not polite to do it on missed serves pushes erc.

Can you imagine if every time you fluffed a serve return your opponent yelled 'good shot what an excellent point' .

I don't mind on big big points especially where there was a good rally but on a missed push in the middle of a game?

Insane match, what a show from both players.

I don't mind Harimoto's yelling when it comes from a good shot or a forced error where he played the rally well, but it's kind of weird to Cho so loudly from the opponent making a simple mistake.

I think it's amplified by the fact that the TT crowd is barely audible on broadcasts, so we only really hear the players and commentators.

Sorry @Takkyu_wa_inochi . I’m more Swedish than I am Japanese and Japan won’t give me permanent residency despite living here nearly 3 decades and I am happily married with kids.
Now they raised visa costs by 8-20X depending on the type.
I am angry.
