I think you misread my statement and I should have been clearer. What I meant was, Truls is winning matches from his backhand corner either by attacking from his forehand or thru backhand punches. His forehand is good no doubt, but others have equally good forehand. The difference being Truls constant short service to opponents forehand that is getting him weak returns which he kills by forehand or backhand.

Lot of opponent coaches will now have food for thought and have to deeply study his service to forehand, service receive game. These are the main differentiators for me in his game.

With all honesty i think you underestimate the edge of Truls forehand and overestimate the value of his punch (in fact i think one of his biggest changes to improve his game has been his ability to backhand topspin even if unconventionallyy). That said no point splitting hairs, we agree he is a great player, I am appreciating more.and more his work on being technically complete and versatile.

No am not over estimating his backhand punch and I think his forehand is as good as others.

Some players really seem to struggle with that backhand. It's like they have trouble reading the bounce.

The flat backhand, i find that rhe guys wtih good looping backhands don't mind it. The toppsin is to me a different story especially vs. backspin. Sometimes he plays it dead sometimes he loads it up and for someone with "poor technique ", the amount of spin and the errors made blocking and countering it are fairly surprising. At some point, he might enter the textbook despite the disapproval of the experts.

Choking is reaching the finish line and not being able to cross it due to a psychological block.

Harimoto came back from 6-10 in game 7, secured a mach point, and instead of capitalizing on the psychological advantage, started making errors.

It's actually a pattern he's been repeating for years, although less often lately.

Not limited to that. Choking can be cognitive and/or neurophysiological and can even be ongoing in a player who performs terribly for an entire match. Think of a person who loses 6-0 6-0 on their center court debut at Wimbledon. It is absolutely a choke and they never got anywhere near parity or a final endgame shootout.
What you are talking about is a type of choke and one that we care about very much because in that short moment, a match is won and lost, but it is not the only type of choke by any means

No surprises there.

I once nearly threw a photographer out of the hall during a league match for using a focus-asist beam.

An actual professional sports photographer respects the sport and uses gear accordingly. Lenses that are used for indoor sports are fast (f/2.8 mostly) and flash isn't required.

Event security should be checking the gear at entry, though. They did so at WTT Zagreb, but not in Ljubljana.

Hitomi Sato leapfrogs Honoka Hashimoto and is now the 4th highest ranked Japanese woman behind Miwa, Hina, and Satsuki. Both are at this week's Star Contender Astana with Hitomi seeded #3 and Honoka seeded #4. Kudos to Dina Meshref moving up 5 spots to #30.
