He has played many great matches against Truls (and one terrible one earlier this year), I still remember the Houston 2021 match that was incredibly close . They are also Champions Cup teammates on Saarbrucken so Patrick plays him more than most. Also Franziska's strong backhand doesn't let him get away with those chop blocks so he doesn't really try them.

This tournament has been completely unpredictable, Franziska making it this far considering his opponents, dude is in the zone, and between Calderano and JWJ, feels like he has better chance against JWJ, but this damn tournament has any kind of prediction on its head so ....

Yeah, totally different Truls from yesterday against LSD. You can see that he was not eager to win the match. Maybe Franziska is his league teammate.

I feel he and coach Lars get each other better than Rosskopf, I suspect Rosskopf still views him too much through historical lenses.

SYS is clearly struggling at the moment, I wouldn't read too much into her play at this event, she is probably on painkillers and exceeding expectations to be honest.
