Xiom Hayabusa ZL Pro or ZLX

Hey everyone, I came across these two amazing-looking blades, and they really sparked my interest. I happen to have extra rubbers on me (Hurricane 3 prov. blue sponge FH and Glayzer 09c BH). I was wondering which of the two blades I should get? I'm stuck because after researching these two blades, I would like the dwell time on the ZL Pro, but I also love the feeling of an outer carbon/fiber ply for my backhand. I would love to know how they play from y'all's personal experience to decide. I'm sure no matter which one I choose, I'll be in for a great time since these two blades seem amazing.

I know your not asking me but I thought I’d put my two sense into it. I bought the ZL pro with Rakza Z on FH and Xiom Vega X on BH. Plays like a dream tbh. Good dwell and speedy enough for my liking. I’m not good with equipment reviews but I liked the blade with the rubbers. Spin from this setup was crazy good and the setup was somewhat still controllable for me (I’ve blasted it off the table sometimes but that might just be a technique issue)

Great, thanks a lot for your input. I also play R7 but it feels way too slow on my YSE, so was looking for an upgrade. What blade you had before? Is the ZL powerful enough to play a bit far from the table?

I'm still thinking either to get the ZL or something with inner carbon - I want some good enough speed so I can loop from afar without sacrificing the spin and the control. Is your R7 max?

ZL Pro one of the best blades for amateurs / regular club players. can even use it up to a higher level. price is good too

just try to get one that is a bit heavier

I hope is a bit faster than my YSE, because I played with a carbon pre-assambled joola racket with micron rubber and felt so natural to me, only to get back to my YSE to feel it slow and almost dull in comparison.

It’s definitely faster than YSE so that’s no problem at all.

I said Rakza Z which is the hybrid rubber, not Rakza 7. I’m an ej so I’ve played with YSE, Ma Lin Carbon, Fangbo B2X, Ma Lin extra offensive, Andro Treiber Fo/offs, and Freitas alc. before the ZL though I played with the ma Lin Carbon. The ZL Pro is good for far behind the table in my opinion, might want more opinions because it’s subjective. You definitely won’t go wrong with it over carbon. Depending on the carbon, ZL Pro is more powerful imo. For example, my ZL Pro is faster then my Ma Lin Carbon blade. My Rakza Z is max I think.

I've played with my friend's ZL Pro, he's also on this forum. For me it felt too slow, but I'm used to playing with fast blades. It has very good control, I found it great for blocking. The fiber doesn't do much for me, at most a little bit more speed than other blades with similar composition.

Im currently using a 7ply allwood blade (GEWO Aruna Off). Using GEWO Nexxus 38 degree rubbers on both sides. This setup bottoms out when hitting far from the table, and is physically demanding. Which i don't like. Maybe its just the rubbers are too soft.
But, i'm considering maybe upgrading to a composite blade that is not too fast. So Innerforce ALC-like, or this Xiom Hayabusa ZL Pro looks interesting.
How would you compare this Xiom blade to a 7ply allwood blade in terms of speed. Would it be much faster or just a natural step up?

I generally like to loop more instead of go for flat speedy hits even far from the table.
I have also tried a couple of outer carbon blades, and I find them too heavy and glass like. But the benefit is hitting from afar is effortless.
So what imagine i want from a blade upgrade is, more "sweet spot" area and the composite layer to kick in giving more power when further from the table. Apart from that i like the feeling and weight of this allwood blade i'm currently using.

I find this blade and the DHS PG7 ( a 7-ply ) to be very similar, the difference for me was the rubbers used. Maybe try changing the rubber? I've found even starting 5-ply blades to play better than an outer carbon with the right rubbers, so it could be a rubber problem.

I have plans to change to a 7-ply with a hybrid, or a W968 clone with a Hurricane 3 Neo instead, because I found proper technique and strength more powerful than just equipment.

I’m in no way shape or form good with advice on what you should do equipment wise, but I’d recommend you try faster/harder rubbers and keep the blade. The blade doesn’t sound like it’s the problem, but the rubbers might be too soft and slow for you now and it might be time to upgrade rubbers. At the end of the day it’s up to you and what you want to do. I have the ZL Pro and it’s pretty good for those who want to make that transition away from all wood. It’s fast (for me) as well as allows for good dwell when looping the ball. Blocks are great as well.
