I have been using this blade for a few months now, mainly with MX-P max thickness both sides and at the minute MX-S max on forehand. It is quite a nice designed blade, smooth veneer on head of the blade and quite a thick handle (straight) which is nice I think as usually straight blades are quite thin. Very comfy in the hand and mine weighing 86g felt quite well balanced towards the handle not the head with max thickness rubbers glued on.
With the MX-P topspin strokes felt crisp and the throw (or my throw) was producing a nice arc over the net, backhand too. Touch shots were tight with good feeling and a sense you could place them short, low and accurately where you wanted even with the aggressive rubbers on. Stepping off the table a little in the top to top rallies it also felt very safe and that I could place the ball anywhere on the table, with the MX-S this was a little harder to use off the table but I would say that was down to a little less power from the rubber not the blade. Good feedback was felt too giving an extra sense of security. There are other carbon blades like the butterfly alc’s that I think have that little extra power way off the table but you also sacrifice a little control and I would rather be playing mid/at the table any way and don’t mind this minor lack of power.
Open ups against backspin using MX-P on Powerspin Carbon were easy if your stroke and footwork were spot on, a little more difficult if out of position or if you couldn’t propel the ball from your legs. I found the MX-S slightly better on this blade for opening up against backspin though, I assume from the extra grip on the rubber. I could play against many backspin balls and felt I could loop drive and win the point. Also if the opponent gave heavy loop in my direction then I could counter loop with great control and ease, if I wanted I could also just smash straight through the spin which I find quite difficult with other carbon blades.
Overall I think it’s a really nice carbon blade with good feeling and nice control, enough power for away from the table strokes but I think the rubber you use will help here to. If I were to have any negative comments it would mainly be that unless you struck the ball dead centre sometimes there would be a funny sound, or a vibration from the blade, if you are striking the ball well no problem. Maybe as already said in other reviews the slight flex from the blade caused this vibration, I don’t know but it is a little distracting for me. I would recommend this blade as it is a very good price and if you are looking to change from an all wood blade then the control this carbon blade gives will help with that transition too. It has good spin, quite a nice sweet spot and I personally (even with aggressive rubbers) think it has loads of control.

Hello Everybody, I have tested the Butterfly Tenergy 80 on my forhand in 1.9mm thickness. First I can say this Rubber feels very grippy like the other Tenergy Series. I tested the Tenergy 05 and the Tenergy 80. The T80 played more soft and straight. The Tenergy 05 has got a really high bounce, so it was easy to played Topspin against Topspin. With the Tenergy 80 I had more fun in Blocking and in the Short game. This Rubber is in the middle of Tenergy 05 and Tenergy 64 it's for Players which want speed spin and Control in all ways
Pros
  • Grippy topsheet
Hello Everybody body, I have tested the Tibhar Evolution Fx-p on the Backhand in 1.9 mm to 2.0 mm.

First I can say, this Rubber is really great and has got a grippy Top sheet. On the packaging says that the Rubber has got 39 to 42 degrees. When I have played the Rubber my first opinion said me that the Rubber has a Lot of spin and feels really soft. Topspins against Topspins where difficult because I had to use Lot of my arm to bring the Ball on the other side. In Short to Short game the Fx-p has really good Control and for the First Topspins playing against Backspin the Evolution was brilliant. I think all in all the Rubber is for Players who want a good soft Rubber which cost not so much and is good to make Backspin.

The provincial is slightly faster than the commercial in terms of power.I would say that this rubber would suit both beginners and higher level players as this rubber is designed to play well with good technique, therefore to get the best out of this rubber you will have to use arm, body and legs for the forehand completely, for example. However, this spin is amazing if you can brush the ball and the rubber is more controllable compared to tensor's but can still provide you with speed, especially with the provincial.Boosting would help speed up the rubber but as its the provincial rubber it works fine without.Be aware you need to break in the rubber after 2 weeks of playing the rubber plays faster after breaking in!

Great rubber for a fast control, and close to the table play. The rubbers quick responsive sponge will keep your opponent on their toes, not giving them second to think. The only thing that makes this rubber lose a star is the topsheet. The topsheet has no tack, and no tensor, nothing to improve spin.

I love this rubber, it improved my game a lot in my serves, and spin kills. The rubber has a medium sponge with a tensor that tightens it up to a medium hard, that gives u a perfect dwell for spin, and control without losing speed. The quality and durability is unreal, with care it will last a long time.

Hello Everybody I tested the Butterfly Marcos Freitas Alc blade.

My Blade wheight 86 gramms so it's a light one.

The blade Should be similar to the old Butterfly Michael Maze Alc blade. In some points the blades are the Same, but my tests showed me that Freitas is a bit faster than the Maze. Both blades are very good and easy to play with. The Carbon of the Freitas is very soft so it's not a Hard Carbon feeling like the other Alc blades out there (Boll Alc, Viscaria etc). I tested the blade with Tenergy 80 on forehand and Tibhar Evolution Fx-p on Backhand. Both Rubbers are not so hard so the bat is not Hard and heavy (177 gramms overall). Everybody Who want's a fast soft Carbon Blade Should take the Freitas. The blade has good dwell and helps me get a lot of spin in my shots. I think it's one of the Best alc blades for spin. With the Boll Spirit I could not produce so much spin. I like the Freitas more than the Boll Alc. The only downside is the price. There is a difference from the Freitas to the Maze blade but the Maze price was a bit over 100 pounds. The Freitas costs over 150 Pounds. That's to much. And with Tenergy Rubbers, the Freitas plays the Ball very high. That's not for Everybody nice. However a great blade.

I have played two practises with Genesis M and I loved this rubber directly. What I like the most is the spin this rubber is able to generate, my serves got much spinnier and I really like the balance between speed and control. It's kind of different in feel from the earlier Stiga rubbers I have tried, maybe becasue it's made in China, however I think it feels much more like a euro rubber than a Chinese rubber when it comes to how it plays.

If I compare to Tenergy I think this rubber is more spinny and and got a little higher arc. As Tom wrote I think this will be a popular rubbers that suits many offensive players.

Pros
  • Great grip/spin
  • Very controllable
I have been using the Genesis M 2.0 rubbers for the last few weeks and it's a fantastic rubber. The high amount of grip it has is key for the spin it can generate, I found in comparison to the Tenergy series it has even greater spin. However tenergy does still have perhaps a slight edge on speed, but for players looking for a controllable and spinny rubber this is perfect. Don't get me wrong Genesis is still fast with a good high arc and spring. Very impressive new release from Stiga I think it will become extremely popular, it is a great middle ground between a Chinese style hard hurricane type rubber and a European style high tension type rubber!

Great rubbers!

I'm using the 2 mm medium hardness variant (FH)

I'm using these rubbers for 2 years (2 sets, one a year) and they are just perfect.

When you score a lot of points with your serve this rubber is made for YOU.

It gives lots of spin and much of control, this means you kan get it everywhere with every kind of spin but of course, technique is the major part

In game it is a great rubber to set up the ball, when the ball has got the right speed you can start playing. You can chop-block to suprise your opponement or you can easily take over every kind of ball

Overall, when you are a player of serve, spin and tactics, this is the best rubber you can get.

Pros
  • Thick glue

Cons
  • use until dead

The rubber is very thick which is good for porous rubbers. It wont seep into the pores so you can just allow it to dry and then it's great. The problem is taking the rubber off the blade can chip the blade if you don't laquer it well, it's also pretty difficult to get the glue off the rubber so if you want to reuse the rubber you're a bit out of luck.

I got this blade from the Nexy raffle. I was not a fan of allwood back then and favored the faster and numb composites(Gergely, Mizutani, Viscaria). After receiving the blade I glued a Globe 999 and Rakza 7 soft I was not impressed lol. I was using Akrasia back then timeskip after training in Manila they suggested me to use an allwood 5-ply blade. I had my eyes set on the Stiga Ebenholz 5 and bought it.I was enjoying the blade but after a month or so I started to feel it's uncontrollable throw and one factor is the Hurricane 8's catapault. I had trouble landing the ball in the table after that my instinct told me to use the Zealot. I glued my H8 and 05 there and it is now my current weapon.

Spinning:
When spinning you will notice the sticky feeling which is quite annoying at first lol. Due to the dwell time plus the H8 and 05 I can produce tremendous amount of spin in my forehand and backhand. The blade boosted my confidence in spinning because I had no fear that the ball will go out. When I was using Ebenholz 5 the ball was a bit wild but in Zealot the ball's trajectory is really stable and quite confusing to the opponent because it seems that the ball will go out.

During close the table loop because of the long trajectory of the blade and dwell the ball is really hard to block because the ball goes long and spinny I had no trouble in looping close table. If I want to make the ball land shorter or make it dip I just do a more forward stroke and it does the trick.

Blocking:
I can say that this is one of the best blade that I used in the blocking department. I can kill the ball easily with Zealot through absorption or punch block, chop block. and the 05 is a great blocking rubber lol the 05's throw is somehow muted by the Zealot but will be there when you need it due to the Dual Impact system. My colleagues laugh at me saying no such thing exists but changes their mind when they tried my blade. Because one of them is using an 05 in bh.

Flicking:
I really loved the Zealot and H8's combination in flicking the dwell plus tacky and med throw rubber produces fast and low flicks. I can do the chiquita fairly easy with Zealot and with a low trajectory too! bh flicks are a breeze and sometimes they misjudge the ball cause it contains a lot of spin but looks like a normal push lol

Receiving:
It is very easy to receive using Zealot whether it is a drop shot, flick, push or mini topspin. I have a lot of trouble receiving using the Ebenholz especially the strong sidespin cause it pops a lot yet I can now attack it with Zealot because of the dampened 05 throw.

PS. It is best to pair Zealot with med to high throw rubbers because of it's low throw nature and for me H8 and 05 is the best combo. Happy Spinning!

The spirit blade is good but the short game for me is poor, I lose more points than I win as i touch and push into the net apart from that it's a good bat also very good for top to top rallies

This is the third Tenergy I have tried and I feel like I have found just the right one to use for life; I tried Tenergy 80 and 80 FX before this one.

I have tried many rubbers before, DHS Hurricane 3, Donic Easy Slick, Joola Rhyzm Tech, Butterfly Addoy, DHS G888, Tibhar Euro Soft Grip S, Andro Rasant Grip, Butterfly Roundell Soft and a lot more so it was fairly easy for me to notice the clear contrast between this one and the other.

when having opened the package, I could feel that 'Tenergy feeling' of a soft and grippy topsheet that makes the ball sink into the rubber which I absolutely love and the rubber was no doubt built to be in its highest quality.

I currently have this rubber in 1.9mm sponge thickness on both sides of Tibhar Paul Drinkhall Powerspin Carbon and my review will be based on this combination. Having used this combo for a while, I believe I can confidently give you accurate words about my views on this rubber. I hope you enjoy reading this review and find it helpful.

Serving: I could feel the ball being absorbed into the sponge. I totally loved the generous dwell time that allowed me get a great control of it and produce quality intense spin. It is always a pleasure to see the phenomenal amount of spin this rubber is capable to generate and this is where my joy of using this rubber began. Yep, not any particular trouble with serving. Just so impressed that I can now feed my opponents with tons of spin with minimal effort.

Pushes & Blocks: when doing short and long pushes, I found this rubber to have a wide range of gear allowing me to locate the ball at the desired length. Personally, when it comes to blocking, I think the grip of the rubber and the solidness of the blade are the most crucial factors to let me make some quality blocks and I think my blade and rubber did a splendid job here. Only a tiny bit of flex in my blade, not as stiff as Joo Se Hyuk blade I used before. Anyways, Nothing stopped my Tenergy 05 FX from doing its job. It felt firm and consistent when blocking and one thing that surprised and impressed me is it gave me a secure feel even when blocking smashes which did help me more in match situations.

Forehand & Backhand Topspin: Yes, this rubber does have a low throw angle and it admittedly does. However, I found its soft topsheet and sponge let me do the topspin strokes at a closed angle(to be precise 10~20 degrees above the horizontal so fairly flat) with confidence consistently since the ball just soaks into the rubber and sponge easily. And now, this would be one of the most important factors in the match, topspin against backspin(!) This rubber made it comfortable for me to 'lift up'/'brush up' the backspin with ease without much effort. If there're some guys out there struggling with lifting up the backspin, I would definitely recommend this rubber. If the price is the matter, Andro Rasant Grip is one great alternative. I have to say, the major part of this is how easily the ball gets soaked into the rubber and sponge and I think it is one great rubber for everyone. Another fact that I would highly regard is the safety over the net. Needless to say, getting the ball over the net and in the table is the most crucial and a key part to table tennis and it is indeed essential that rubber does the job properly so we can all be confident and consistent with our shots. As a spin orientated offensive all rounder, this is a perfect rubber for me to do all these attacking strokes with high level of consistency and I can safely recommend it to any of my friends who play table tennis in similar style as mine or more offensively.

Loops: I am going to be honest here. I am not so good at doing the backhand loops, especially, around the net or at an extreme angle. So, I will base my review of doing the loops on how I felt when doing the forehand loops. The characteristic of the rubber I have repeatedly mentioned above did help me with doing the quality loops under control. Inside out loop, side spin loop, they were all made easier for me.

In match situations: Even when in the match this rubber allowed me to generate quality spin and shots while not compromising either the control or the consistency. I sometimes tend to be slow with my reactions but the extended dwell time helped me raise the accuracy in my shots.

I understand how unreal this review may sound due to so many positive comments about it. It is how much this rubber has helped me and I can honestly recommend it to all intermediate players like me. The only drawbacks are as mentioned above; I am not saying the rubber is a total slime but it is not as durable compared to Andro Rasant Grip for example and yeah, obviously Tenergy rubbers are pricy for their names and technology but still the pricing of these rubbers is a bit exorbitant. I saw many reviews saying this rubber is for backhand. However, I disagree, I think this rubber provides amazing control for both forehand and backhand.

This review is not on how I felt about this rubber straight out of the packaging. I took some time to get to know the rubber. It took me a bit of time to get used to its feel and trajectory so I can make suitable adjustments to my strokes. Personally, I wouldn't recommend it to the proper choppers who like chopping far from the distance.

To save you some fortunes, I recommend you to try DHS A4002 as a starter. This pre-assembled bat is a quality one for its price; costs around 14~16 GBP on Amazon. It has Hurricane 3 on FH and G888 on BH. It can be bought cheap on Amazon which is where I bought mine as well.

Then move onto customizing your bats. get Andro Rasant Grip on both sides of Paul Drinkhall Allround Classic which is a controlled version of my current blade, Paul Drinkhall Powerspin Carbon.

When you are seeking for more spin and speed, then move onto Tenergy and maybe faster blade as well:)

Thank you for reading my review. I hope you found it informative and helpful:)

This blade finishing is world class!
tried it with
FH: Gewo Hype EL 47.5 and BH: Rasant beat

Speed : At top gear it's faster than timo boll w7 blade which is all wood 7-ply blade too. But at the lower gear (short touch) I can control the ball like I'm playing allround blade. Fantastic!

Feel : I found this feel like 5-ply mid-hard blade instead of 7-ply blade. Unique feeling of beech wood outer ply is amazing.

Control : I think I found my own weapon! even if this is offensive blade it's controllable! I can land the ball wherever I want.

Chopping : I gave it to my Long pimple lover friend to try it with Air upupup pro OX + Spinlord Marder 2 2.0. He said this blade is good for blocking style lp player. Chopping from long distance is also good but not as good as Nexy Lissom. But yeah! this is offensive blade.

Topspin : This blade is better for modern topspin forward stroke than classic looping stroke. the throw angle is mid-low but long trajectory which is easy to be aggressive.

Even this blade is quite expensive but it is valuable for me and I still thinking to buy another one.
