Long 5 is just a commercial blade, W968 or W997 is custom made. In some ways, just can't compare those two blades. First of all, the quality of the raw material is different level.

W968 is more control and faster and has more feel to it. Its made for the new balls 40+ , w997 is very similar but not as powerful as w968.

Sure. The first batch of W968 was made in 2012 if I remember right. That time we were still using the old balls. With the new plastic balls coming along, DHS is changing the weight, thickness of the blade, according to Malong's requiring all the time. Since last year, world championship in Suzhou, Malong Formally started to use hurricane on both side, therefore W968 is made slightly light now. Average weight is 90+/- and thickness is 6mm- most of them.

but 37 is too high number.
imagine if this was a super exclusive blade made only for a couple of people they wouldn't make 40, 50, 100 units of it....

The number means nothing. I have seen even bigger numbers before. The important things are weight, thickness and wood grain

Players will pick the blade they like, weight, thickness and wood grain from a new batch. The volume is 150 - 200 blades each time, not sure how many will past the final test.
