Hello everyone I am a professional table tennis player from India and I am really confused between dhs Hurricane Long 5 and Bty Viscaria . My game is open and attack with topspin. I play only with poly balls 40+. I want to know which is better for an offensive player who likes an attacking game with opening directly on services and then attacking with topspin and loops. My rubbers are tenergy 05 fh and tenergy 64 bh. Please help me choose the blade thank you.

Depends on your level, both blades are made rather for advanced professional players. Since tenergies are made by butterfly they defnitely suit good for viscaria. I am not convinced for DHS blades, especially that DHS have many different qualities and you never know what you are buying.

Like I am an international player but in under 18 category. I didn't meant to show off or something but I recently shifted to dubai so no coach and sponsorship. Sorry if I was wrong!

I would say Viscaria because Butterfly had pretty much define what an offensive blade is like in terms of head dimension, handle size and balance for others to follow. The design of HL5 is odd as it has a bigger than normal blade face (160mm+), thin handle and heavy in weight (95g+). It may be a cannon but the weight and balance will hinder continuity in the modern game with 40+ balls. The whole setup with modern rubbers can go above 200g easy. But if you possess the power of Ma Long then probably this is the one for you.

Anyway DHS is about to revise their Hurricane series blades and they are about to cut down the head size of HL5 to facilitate continuity. For that we will have to wait and see.

Professional player. To be a professional you must make a living off of what you're doing.

Semi- professional is someone who makes money but not enough to rely on as their only income.

If you're truly a professional you'd know the blade choice isn't important in making you a better player. You know it's the hard work and dedication and not the equipment that will make you better

i would say equipment is pretty important especially to a very high level player. the HL series have a extremely narrow handle that may not be liked by everyone or preferred for a smaller hand etc.
if pro's could just use anything and it wasnt important then i'd expect a much bigger range of equipment. why is FZD using a BTY blade despite stiga sponsership if it doesnt matter. why isnt ZJK using butterfly forehand etc

by the sound of it its important to get this right for now and look to get a sponsor and a coach which seems to be somthing he/she is working on

i'd agree about the professional being banded about a bit much though.

As a HL5 user if you're playing Japanese rubber play Viscaria because HL5 is best used with Chinese rubbers, I tried tenergy 05 and it felt way to weird.
