OSPH... the grip... the shiny thing is a thin plastic protector you need to remove, kinda tricky to do it, but you gotta remove it. Then you have a tiny paper cover over some sticky adhesive on each side you need to peel off. You now have dull on both sides, but each end of one side now has a small sticky adhesive. You put the sticky end high on your handle at the top, then strategy wrapping the rest of the grip tape around the handle. When you get to the end of the tape, there is sticky adhesive to keep it all from unraveling.

You are now ready.

The small piece of tape with the Nexy on it 6 times is optional to put on the bottom of the blade for looks.

Ah ok, just wanted to be sure, didn't want to mess it up. Thank you again!

This is the 3rd singles. Any comments are welcomed. :)

I keep it to one comment.

10 minutes a day of refining touch for short serves and growing from there is gunna raise Ur level at least Two levels, easily.

Gumby,

The Goon Squad was not successful in intercepting the Package. It arrived safely!

Thank you!

Never having used grip tape before, and the Instructions are in Korean...

The black tape has a shiny side and a matte/dull side... the shiny side, is just some adhesive plastic sheet to protect it and meant to be ripped off, right? The dull side is what will touch the handle.

The Nexy strip is meant to be placed on the handle's edge?

I'm such an idiot.

Thank you in advance!

Question though, why would a CPen player use grip tape?

When I play matches like this, it makes me wish I was ten years younger when I started learning this and did't have this effing RA... I lost up 10-4 in the 5th vs the 2250 junior and I lost this one too...

Think Der intended to add some weight given I possibly wouldn't be able to handle the weight of a 2nd inverted rubber (or short pips) ... grip tape though seems de minimus, but willing to try it out. Will see if the long pips ox and grip tape helps a little with weight of blade

Sir,

For now, only had time to watch the first 2 games, no disrespect to your opponent, but he didn't have that many outright winners like you did, it seemed he just played to be steady and return the ball and let you make mistakes... he suffered for this strategy in the first game and parts of the 2nd game despite his win of the 2nd, as you had outright winners

will watch the rest later, getting busy with work now. but based on 1st 2 games, if you lost this match, i can see why it's
frustrating.

Nice video :) Your backhand open-up is really strong by the look of it.

Losing in the fifth set is horrible, sometimes I feel like you'd rather lose 3-0 than 3-2 haha :)

Is 2250 USATT rating good? I know nothing about USATT ratings and would be curious to know what my rating is.

Does anyone know of a way to compare UK rankings to USATT ratings? There probably isn't a way but I'm curious.

The old rating question :D I don't know about the UK system? Do you know how it compares to the german one? Because i could then somehow try to translate it.

And to answer your question. 2250 USATT is damn good! At least thats what i can tell from watching matches on youtube, and experiencing playing against NL who is at 2000 points :)

2250 would be at least top 150 or top 200 in England, possibly top 100 if you exclude foreigners. I would be somewhere in the top 500 -600 in England, possibly a bit higher based on the players I have played here who came for the NA Teams.

Okay Thanks :)

I'm around 250 standard (ranking is currently 280 but is on the rise) but I have beaten top 100 players in the UK. But only a couple of times!

The trouble I have is that I am not from "mainland UK", I live on a small island and therefore it is very expensive to travel all the time to play haha :)

Guernsey (the island I live on) is part of the UK, and so we are included in the rating system. It's just expensive to play in all the tournaments that qualify for ranking points.

Thank you for your insight... I see the USATT system thrown around a lot in forum posts and I have never really understood what it all means and equates to.

The guy plays the way I used to before I met Brett, only that he is a more talented blocker and pusher with better strokes and serves and spin reads than I had. Younger too, so it makes life easier. So when we play, I am usually the aggressor. But don't be fooled - he can put some heavy spin on the ball too, but it is his defense that drives me nuts - he mixes up his dead blocks and topspin and with a very high level of consistency. If I don't put the ball past him and I use my forehand, I usually lose the point. Only my backhand has heavy enough spin to resist his block.

Saturday club day:

First up: Played with my friend who is a leftie SH. 3-1.

Second: Played with a member of the pennant team that I substitutes in. I performed quite stable today, and won against him in 4 straight sets. This has not happened for a long time already, as last time I beat him 3-2, and then the times before had been close, and sometimes he beat me as well.

Third: Had a hit with my SH friend, where we just hit anywhere randomly. Already feeling a bit tired.

Fourth: Played with my other friend, where we tried to practice counter looping with drills. As this is the second time I practice this, I know the feeling that I am looking for, but I am already a bit tired after 2 matches, so my energy level is not optimal. After training with him, we played a match. He has super deceptive serves. I lost 2-0, as I was also just too tired.

Fifth: After I sat on the ground, but this other player haven't played with me for weeks, so he called me to hit with him. I complied.

Totally exhausted at the moment

Taught a class for beginners, third session of four, this morning. Practiced afterwards, especially my serves. Served to a player under 1000 but with much higher level strokes. Tested various sidespin serves as I want to develop and play behind short sidespin serves more confidently. Will share video later.

Played a freshman who was visiting home from college. We used to play a lot and I was surprised he pushed my serves very well. Lost 2-3. Also hit with a penholder.

Used my robot for some drilla. Will share later. Basically, I try to catch balls with both hands to test my mobility and shoulder rotation.

Then I went to Princeton to play lower rated players. Used each match to practice different serves. Got and missed lots of pop ups but adapted over time.

My shot making is fine. I just need to shorten and recover better on my forehand.
