I have been contemplating for quite a while.

Sorry for opening a similar thread but I managed to reduce the options to two blades and now need finalizing ideas. (I am not able to buy Ice Cream AZXi right now.)

Backhand: Stiga DNA Platinum XH
Forehand: Xiom Omega 7 China Guang

With these rubbers, which following blade should I go for for better feeling, while not significantly giving up speed?

Andro TP_Ligna All (Would also be happy if someone knows which wood plies are used on this blade)
Xiom Hugo Calderano HAL (As far as I know it is Koto - axylium - Limba - kiri - Limba - axylium - Koto)

those are two very different blades , you sure you don’t mean TP_Ligna CO Off?
Among Ligna CO off, CI off and Ligna All, I chose Ligna All because I thought the other two might be too fast and almost uncontrollable with the rubbers I mentioned.

Why are you saying "HAL" and "Ligna All" to be very different blades, in terms of what?

In terms of speed of course. HAL is a fast attacking blade, outer Arylate fiber construction. Where as TP_Ligna All is a 5 layer all wood all around blade.

I am frequently seeing people say HAL has a moderate speed and some flex. That's why I thought it's speed would be similar to an All blade when combined such very hard rubbers.

But since I can buy only one blade and Ligna All is cheaper in my province, I thought I may go for it as well for similar gameplay.

You say Ligna All remains slow against HAL, though. So would you recommend Ligna CI for inner carbon or Ligna CO for even more speed? Do you think it would be still managable with CO, and most importantly, can these two Andro blades be better than HAL is with those rubbers?

Moderate speed as compared to the most hard hitting monster blades, yeah, but still a fast blade nonetheless. If you think you can handle it , it is a good blade. Also, without knowing how well you play, it’s hard to say which one is better for you. And TP_Ligna CI Off is a pretty good blade too, soft but stiff is what I remembered from using it for a few weeks.

I am an intermediate player but never used too fast rubbers before, decided to use hard rubbers and getting used to them. I try to be careful choosing blade though, to not regret later.

At the moment, given what you said, I choose between "CI off" and "HAL" I guess. CI off (spruce - ayous- carbon -kiri- carbon - ayous- spruce) is said to be made by SoulSpin and indeed seems quality crafted. HAL is looking very good, too.

Thank you for your opinion :)

Spruce top layer creates a very special feeling when hitting the ball, and it’s not for everyone, the safer choice would be HAL I think.

With saying outer spruce creating a very "special" feeling, you rotated me towards Ligna CI :D. For a clean choice however, I am going to buy a Hugo as you said, then save my all money for a Ligna CI it seems.

what kind of money do you want to spend ?
are you located in turkey ? if yes, do you have relatives living in germany that you trust ?
i could part with one of my two Xiom Hugo Calderano HAL blades if the offer is right.
Yes I live in Turkey. I don't have any relatives living in Germany, though.

Thank you for your kind thoughts :)

I have 200$ to spend for a blade. Do not get me wrong please, money is not the problem. I can buy a Hugo HAL now and three months later will have enough money to buy a Ligna CI also.

I just don't have enough patience. I am wondering how an outer spruce layer blade feels like and want to try two blades at the same time and choose the one I like more, which is not possible sadly.

if money is not an option order the damn HAL already ;)
I like it very much but being in the 1400 Hz range it is not slow at all, while still being reasonable controllable.

I had two Icecream AZXi and they were slower than the HAL (at least in terms of frequency).
Okay, I am ordering the damnest HAL ever.
Thank you for info :)
