Since I broke my Timo Boll Spirit, I've been trying to play with this Nexy Yoo Nam Kyu Pro ALC. What rubbers play on well on this thing? Dignics 09C is terrible, it feels like an absolute brick. Tenergy 80 even feels dead. What is the point of the blade? I don't get it. Does anyone here use it? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

As far as I know this should be a Ma Long HL5 or W968 clone blade. It's strange you find both T80 and D09c dead on it. Normal Tenergies are usually not that great on very fast blades which the Nexy Pro ALC is certainly not, in fact should be slower than TBS.
Honestly if these don't work for you I'm not sure what would. Can't imagine H3 would be any easier to use 😥 And with that we're pretty much over the whole "modern" attacking rubber range.

I tried H3 on it back when I first got the blade. I didn't like that either, but it was a little better than D09C. The blade just has a very strange feel. It's unlike any other blade I've owned. It's super muted with absolutely zero feedback to the hand. It's playable on the backhand wing with D80, but I don't love it. No inverted rubbers have felt any good at all on the forehand side. The only rubber that felt good on there was short pimples, but that was way back when I first got the blade a few years ago. I wasn't even playing short pimples regularly back then. It's been ages since I've used those.

*Note, my regular setup for the last year or so has been TBS with T80 on the forehand and D80 on the backhand.

What you say sounds about right, it should act like that. The top 2 plies of the blade are fairly soft and hold the ball. It's unlike the TBS which is quite hard and has a sharp contact feel. With blades like the Nexy Pro ALC you really need to hit the ball not brush it so much, you should get trough the top 2 wood ply and then you will start to feel the power of the blade. Until you reach the carbon and the core it's like a slow blade. TBS is almost the opposite, it's much more balanced with high bounce and even after that it's quite linear.

I assume the short pips felt good since they are softer and you could easier dig into the carbon and the core. I suggest you practice, you might start liking it after you adjust your shots to it.

I'm nearly 50. I'm too old for a blade that takes that much work.😂 On a serious note, I don't really want to relearn all of my strokes, blade angles, and regroove my entire technique. I ordered a Butterfly FZD ALC.

Modern dynamic rubbers work well on the ALC Pro, MX-K if you wanna keep it Korean, but a gazillion work well. This is a spinning blade with control, not an OFF+ rocketship pounder.

I personally use a faster blade (custom jobbed) too, but the blade is not unserviceable, it spins well with a med sponge FH and soft sponge BH.

Go back to BTY ALC blade.
I mean if T80 feels dead that tells a lot about Nexy blade. Also, 09c is a terrific rubber.
