'Nuff said

Most booster supremaicists are at least using illegal boosters to enhance their style (& win unethically).

But social rubber users (those use short pips on weakside(usually backhand) or anti users or those who use low length low aspect ratio long pips listed on ITTF's LARC) who do not use high aspect ratio super long pips because they are terrified of social rejection by the two winged extremists, are the ones with most of the issues.
Forgive me for being somewhat ignorant but what are you actually trying to say?

Are you actually annoyed at people who use boosters? Are you actually saying that people who use other rubbers have issues? Or are you arguing with sarcasm against an opinion that you assume exists somewhere?

Genuinely confused by the lack of clarity in your post.

Not at all, it is the title that is the "down-put", even though it has the " ? "

Is Adam Bobbrow all drama & no substance ?

It certainly reads like a title of a piece where the author/content creator writes/talks about all the instances where Adam may just be dramatic. Would probably work well on YouTube and get some hits but not one I'd use personally

the "table tennis" that he plays is not the real table tennis and pretty sure we all know that. anyone has trained with a real coach will laugh if someone says "oh table tennis looks easy and fun".

I played VR table tennis for a year or so during the pandemic.

I only decided to start playing real table tennis after finding Adam Bobrow's channel and seeing how fun and enjoyable table tennis can be.

For a lot of people like me who were once casually interested in table tennis, I'd argue that Bobrow is significantly more influential to the popularity of the sport than most pro players. Adam's style of play isn't something to emulate, but it does help new fans follow the action easier and is a lot more fun for them to watch than stuff you see at the modern pro level (e.g. close to table backhand rallies).

If I knew the table tennis community was more old farts arguing and insulting each other about properties of rubber, and helicopter parents being a nuissance at their children's matches, then maybe I would never have gotten into teh sport. IMO, we need more of Bobrow's attitude and energy. I know @James Z doesn't really have a problem with Bobrow. I just thought this was a good opportunity as any to show some appreciation for the guy.

You sound like a classical musician laughing at people playing jazz...

The difference being I know NO classical musician stupid enough to laugh at jazz, or even jazz musicians laughing at pop-rock musicians.

Being an elitist is the ultimate death of any form of sport or art for instance, it's stupid, it's discriminant.

You've got a pretty high opinion of yourself, would you show us how good you are vs a pro like Gauzy ? oh maybe it's too much for you, maybe you're better than a lobbing Bobrow then !! ask him for a match and show us how you handle that...

You can go ahead and show me where I said or even implied that you should stop playing or that table tennis was not for everyone.

I'm in my mid 40s and I hope my reading comphrension doesn't abandon me in the next few years.

Age is just a number. You only truly become an old man in table tennis the day you decide that moving around is overrated and glue your first sheet of long pips or weird anti-spin rubber onto your blade.

I am following the standard old-fart plan ... change to short pips at 50, medium at 55, working up to long pimples for 60.

The LP rubbers and the anti-spin will never happen but when it comes to the moving around things are never clean-cut. One just gets slower and slower and does not even realize it.
Then the first clumsy falls come in ...........

This is something that I often think about. I'm currently trying to learn proper footwork and I'm moving around laterally a lot more than I've ever done before trying to emulate younger and much more nimble players. I'm not sure whether this is going to preserve my mobility at my age or is just inviting disaster.

Is there a long thread somewhere here about maintaining mobility through old age via drills, stretches, supplements, etc.?

In doubles, if you do not engage your footwork and get out of the way for your partner, no matter what pips, be it long, short, mid or anti, it will not matter at all. Wanna get better at footwork, play doubles. You will need to move or else you get scolding from your partner. In doubles, there is no way to stand in the middle of the table and let your pips do all the work.

it will slowly come towards you ;)

Typical, two right-handers doing the doubles-dance 😁

Another great video by Adam:
Wow! Paging for Mr James Z, calling Mr James Z.
You should emigrate to Indonesia. There they said to H 3 L L with ITTF ruling and make their own rules w.r.t. long pips. They have all sort of home-made pips. I am sure you will feel like heaven there.

Super low aspect pips, chemically treated pips, super long pimple, etc... James Z's ideal wonderland!!!
